Job Summary

BELL Construction is hiring a Project Scheduler to join our Building Division in Nashville, TN. The Project Scheduler works with project teams to develop, maintain, and analyze project schedules from preconstruction through closeout, working closely with clients, project teams, subcontractors, and leadership to keep large-scale commercial construction projects on track and ensure key milestones and deadlines are met.

Job Responsibilities
  • Develops, maintains, and updates detailed CPM project schedules for large-scale commercial construction projects.
  • Reviews, analyzes, and provides feedback on schedules developed and maintained by project teams, ensuring that schedules are accurate and properly developed.
  • Collaborates with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Subcontractors to establish project sequencing, durations, and ideal milestone dates.
  • Monitors project progress and identifies schedule impacts, delays, and potential risks.
  • Analyzes schedule variances and provides recovery recommendations and mitigation strategies.
  • Conducts schedule reviews and participates in project planning and coordination meetings.
  • Prepares monthly schedule updates, reports, and executive summaries for leadership and clients.
  • Assists project teams with look-ahead schedules, phasing plans, and resource loading.
  • Supports preconstruction efforts by developing conceptual and proposal schedules.
  • Evaluates subcontractor schedules and ensures alignment with overall project timelines.
  • Maintains schedule documentation and historical records throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Promotes proactive team communication regarding any project schedule risks and opportunities.
  • Provides and presents training to project teams.
  • Develops reports to be presented to project leadership.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as assigned.


Education & Experience
  • Minimum required - Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum required - Five (5) years project scheduling experience for large-scale commercial construction, including CPM scheduling methodologies; and experience with Primavera/P6.


Knowledge & Skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word.
  • Ability to use and implement new tools and technologies, such as Viewpoint, Bluebeam, and other Building Information Models (BIM) software.
  • Knowledge of schedule delays analysis and recovery planning.
  • Familiarity with lean construction principles and pull planning preferred.
  • Experience supporting large-scale commercial projects such as higher education, office, mixed-use, industry, hospitality, and justice/civic projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction means, methods, sequencing, and project lifecycle management.
  • Proficiency with scheduling software such as Microsoft Project or P6.
  • Able to read, comprehend, and interpret contracts, drawings, blueprints, specifications, schedules, and scopes of work.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including delivering clear and persuasive presentations.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, follow-up, and critical thinking skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team to meet project demands.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple schedules and priorities simultaneously.
