DescriptionProject Safety Manager - Boeing Expansion ProgramPosition DescriptionThe Project Safety Manager is responsible for leading and supporting the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of project-specific Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) programs that support the successful execution of construction projects. This position typically supports one to two projects and serves as a key member of the project leadership team.
The Project Safety Manager works closely with project teams, trade partners, owners, and PARIC leadership to establish and maintain a proactive safety culture while ensuring compliance with PARIC standards as well as federal, state, and client-specific safety requirements.
This role requires a strong understanding of construction operations, project sequencing, risk mitigation, and safety management systems to drive project safety performance and ensure successful project outcomes.
ResponsibilitiesHealth, Safety & Environmental Leadership
Lead and support the implementation of project-specific HSE management systems.
Effectively manage project safety programs, policies, and procedures.
Ensure compliance with all PARIC, federal, state, and client-specific safety requirements.
Develop a thorough understanding of owner safety requirements and contract obligations.
Create and maintain project-specific bridging documents aligning PARIC safety standards with owner requirements.
Anticipate safety challenges and proactively drive them to closure with a sense of urgency.
Conduct routine jobsite inspections, audits, and safety assessments.
Support incident investigations and the implementation of corrective actions.
Project Team Support
Support project teams in building and developing strong, motivated, and safety-focused teams.
Coordinate safety support functions with internal and external project stakeholders.
Partner with project leadership to identify and mitigate project risks.
Assist in the development and implementation of proactive risk management strategies.
Communicate project safety concerns and risks to project leadership in a timely manner.
Utilize PARIC's Core Values to guide project execution and decision-making.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
Develop and maintain positive relationships with owners, owner's representatives, trade partners, and project stakeholders.
Support project leadership in ensuring overall client satisfaction.
Establish rapport and maintain clear, consistent communication with PARIC leadership, project teams, trade partners, and clients.
Serve as a safety resource and advisor to project teams throughout the lifecycle of the project.
Trade Partner Management
Support onboarding and prequalification efforts by collecting and reviewing trade partner safety documentation.
Monitor trade partner compliance with project-specific safety requirements.
Promote accountability and alignment among all project participants regarding safety expectations.
Leadership & Development
Mentor and develop project personnel and direct reports to support talent development and succession planning.
Share lessons learned and best practices across projects and teams.
Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
QualificationsRequired
Associate's Degree (AA) or Bachelor's Degree (BS) in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of construction safety experience.
Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety best practices.
Understanding of construction sequencing, project execution, and build processes.
Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to identify risks and proactively implement solutions.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and standard construction management technology.
Preferred
OSHA 500 and/or OSHA 510 certification.
CHST, SMS, ASP, CSP, or other BCSP certification.
Experience supporting large-scale commercial, industrial, healthcare, mission-critical, or manufacturing projects.
Experience managing safety programs across multiple project teams.
Work EnvironmentPrimarily project site-based with periodic office visits as required.
Supports one or two active construction projects.
Frequent interaction with project teams, owners, trade partners, and field personnel.
Moderate physical activity including walking jobsites, climbing stairs, and navigating active construction environments.
