Position Overview

Located on one of Kiewit's project sites, the Project Quality Manager (PQM) is responsible for the development, implementation and management of a site specific quality plan and all other quality related functions necessary to deliver the project fully compliant with all required contract documentation. The PQM is a member of the overall project leadership team, and therefore must be able to work with minimal supervision, interact professionally with the project team and client personnel, have excellent written / verbal communication and conflict resolution skills, manage a diversified workload and challenging situation efficiently and effectively, have a Continuous Improvement (CI) mentality, and takes the lead role on managing quality on the project.

The position is based out of Lenexa, KS.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a successful quality program based upon contract requirements and company quality standards.
  • Directly supervise and manage inspection and testing personnel.
  • Develop positive and trustworthy relationships with the client.
  • Provide technical expertise, troubleshooting and solutions for quality issues.
  • Ensure proper documentation and recordkeeping is performed, validated and easily retrievable through audits.
  • Promote and enforce quality processes with the goal of performing work right the first time.
  • Communicate quality control information to all relevant organizational departments, outside vendors, or contractors.
  • Ensure that all non-conformance work is properly reported, tracked and documented.
  • Research, read and interpret construction plans, standards and specifications.
  • Assist with the development of root cause analysis.
  • Personally meet deadlines and contribute in a positive, safe, professional and high-quality project.


Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience developing and implementing construction quality management programs within the Solar, Natural Gas, Oil & Gas, or related industries.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Welding, Industrial) or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and quality reporting tools.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with craft personnel, management, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in diverse construction site environments and travel as required.

Nice to Have:
  • ACI (American Concrete Institute) Certification
  • ICC (International Code Council) Certifications
  • Additional industry certifications such as AWS, API, ASNT, NACE, or CWB.
