Project Manager to join our growing Water & Wastewater team in Houston. What You'll Do

As a Project Manager, you'll lead the planning, design, and delivery of a diverse portfolio of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including:
  • Water supply, treatment, storage, and distribution systems
  • Wastewater collection, conveyance, pumping, and treatment facilities
  • Capital improvement and utility infrastructure programs

You'll serve as both a technical leader and trusted client advisor, overseeing projects from concept through construction while ensuring exceptional service, quality, and project performance.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Delivery
  • Manage projects from proposal through design, bidding, construction, and closeout.
  • Develop scopes of work, contracts, project schedules, and budgets.
  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams and coordinate subconsultants.
  • Monitor project performance to ensure delivery on schedule and within budget.
  • Conduct project reviews and proactively address technical, financial, and scheduling challenges.
  • Oversee construction administration activities and support contractor procurement and bidding efforts.
  • Ensure quality through established QA/QC processes.
  • Manage invoicing, project financials, and fee collection.

Technical Leadership
  • Serve as Engineer of Record and sign/seal engineering documents.
  • Lead major design efforts and provide technical direction to project teams.
  • Apply sound engineering judgment to solve complex infrastructure challenges.
  • Communicate directly with clients on technical and project-related matters.

Team Development
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers and technical staff.
  • Provide coaching, performance feedback, and project guidance.
  • Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing across project teams.

Client Service & Business Development
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with municipal and utility clients.
  • Identify and pursue new project opportunities.
  • Support proposal development, interviews, and project pursuits.
  • Participate in professional organizations and industry events.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to expand services and strengthen client partnerships.

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive water/wastewater engineering experience.
  • Proven experience managing water and wastewater design and construction projects from concept through construction completion.
  • Demonstrated success leading project teams, mentoring staff, and managing client relationships.
  • Strong business development and project management capabilities.
  • Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
  • Ability to obtain licensure in additional states where HR Green conducts business.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
Must possess a current, valid Professional Engineer (P.E.) license and have the ability to obtain licensure in one or more other states in which HR Green conducts business. The employee must be capable of driving/operating a motor vehicle for company business, and maintain a valid driver's license in the state of residence.
