Full Job Description
Haugland Group, a privately owned Long Island, New York-based electrical and heavy civil construction company, has an immediate need for a full-time Project Manager.

Eastern Utility Services, a subsidiary of Haugland Group, specializes in trenchless construction, including horizontal directional drilling, tunneling, auger boring, and microtunneling.

This is a hybrid remote position. Travel to active project sites, including extended stays on location, is required. The anticipated travel requirement for this role is approximately 30%.

Key Functions

  • Coordinate with the Project Management team on engineering, construction procedures, and trenchless means and methods, including value engineering opportunities
  • Prepare and track project submittals, RFIs, and engineering-related inquiries
  • Assist with the development and review of tunneling work plans, procedures, equipment layouts, and construction sequencing
  • Facilitate Change Order processes and assist with monthly budget analysis, projections, and cost-to-complete forecasting
  • Manage CPM baseline schedules and project updates
  • Manage project procurement and buyout procedures
  • Ensure project materials and equipment are approved, procured, delivered, and tracked accordingly
  • Coordinate with the Finance Department to prepare, review, and evaluate monthly project costs
  • Update and maintain the company ERP system with current project information
  • Coordinate project communications between Project Management, engineering, field teams, subcontractors, and vendors
  • Support and coordinate field tunneling activities, including auger boring, microtunneling, shaft construction, and related trenchless operations

Desired Qualifications

  • 2+ years of relevant construction or engineering experience; heavy civil or trenchless construction experience is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred
  • Experience with tunneling, auger boring, microtunneling, HDD, or other trenchless construction methods preferred, but not required
  • Willingness to travel approximately 30%, including multi-state travel and extended project stays
  • Experience with ERP or project management systems preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and standard computer applications
  • Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced project environment
  • Ability to identify problems, evaluate information and alternatives, and make sound recommendations
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills with a strong work ethic
