Your Opportunity

Stantec is actively seeking a Project Manager for our Transportation team l ocated in our Toronto or Markham Ontario office. This group provides consulting services for Class Environmental Assessment, Preliminary Design, and Detail Design projects for public sector clients, including the City of Toronto, surrounding municipalities, as well as the Ministry of Transportation and Metrolinx. The focus of this role is the City of Toronto.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Directing design staff, and managing multi-discipline project teams
  • Financial management of projects including budget forecasting, resource management, change-order management, and client invoicing
  • Developing proposals, budgets and schedules, and on-going business development and liaison with clients, both internal and external to Stantec
  • Collaborating with Transportation Leaders and other Project Managers to identify staffing, equipment, and training requirements
  • Supporting the Stantec Quality Management System, and promoting Stantec's Environmental Health & Safety program
  • Ensuring that the required functions of the project are implemented to meet standards
  • Developing and delivering progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations
  • Building a strong culture of quality design and teamwork
  • Other duties as assigned/required

Your Capabilities and Credentials

You are a highly motivated, registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario, and have more than 15 years of related and applied work experience. The ideal candidate will also have the following additional skills and qualifications:
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, communication and customer relationship skills are essential
  • Experienced in project management of municipal infrastructure projects
  • Experienced in City of Toronto projects will set you apart from your peer group
  • Experienced in report and proposal writing
  • Experienced municipal infrastructure design

Education and Experience
  • University or college degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in the field of municipal infrastructure design and construction
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng. or LEL) is required
  • Ideally 15+ years demonstrated experience with municipal infrastructure project management responsibilities
