Position Scope:

Lead the successful completion of the project lifecycle of engineering initiatives from conception to commercialization in the market. Able to manage larger, more complex projects independently. Responsibilities will encompass a broad range of tactical, managerial, and technical aspects, requiring strong leadership and communication skills, as well as an in-depth understanding of the Product Development Process and Victaulic's product portfolio.

Responsibilities:
  • Project Management: Assume full ownership and accountability for multiple engineering initiatives, setting clear objectives and direction for cross-functional teams. Responsible for developing and maintaining project schedules, adhering to policies, procedures, and standard work processes. Assist Product Management and/or Program Manager to complete project charters outlining scope, goals, deliverables, required resources, budget, and timing per the roles and responsibilities guidelines in VPG-001.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans aligned with organizational goals, ensuring timely and efficient execution of projects.
  • Core Team Management: Lead, inspire, and mentor project members, fostering collaboration, creative thinking, and a high-performance culture to achieve project milestones and objectives.
  • Stakeholder Management: Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including executive leadership, to gather requirements, manage expectations, and ensure seamless communication throughout the project lifecycle. Demonstrated competency in creating presentations and ability to confidently present and interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify potential risks and challenges early in the project, developing proactive mitigation plans to minimize disruptions and maintain project progress.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure quality control measures are being utilized to meet standards, regulatory requirements, and project scope expectations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Analyze project performance and identify areas for improvement through lessons learned during each milestone, process enhancements and best practices, promoting efficiency and excellence in the new product development process. Collaborate to develop tools and best practices for project management and execution.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or related technical discipline preferred and/or 5+ years of extensive experience in project management.
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in Product Development, with a track record of successfully launching products to market. Project Management Certification or degree (e.g., PMP or equivalent) strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and guide cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on achieving business objectives. Analytical mindset and keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to facilitate productive discussions and reach consensus.
  • Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of the manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and BOM's. Experience in MRP/ERP Systems.
  • Proficient in the use of electronic systems and software (Microsoft Office, Project Management software, etc)
  • Willing to be flexible in schedule and travel to ensure customer value is obtained by evaluating product performance in the field.
