Own the Project. Lead the Execution. Deliver the Result.Superior Rigging & Erecting is seeking an experienced Project Manager - Structural Steel to lead steel erection projects from award through closeout.
This is a hands-on construction management role for someone who understands how the office and field must work together to deliver a safe, profitable project. You will work directly with customers, general contractors, field leadership, engineering, fabrication, and internal operations to keep projects moving and problems from becoming delays.
What You'll Do- Manage structural steel erection projects from contract award through final closeout
- Own project schedules, budgets, forecasting, cost control, and overall financial performance
- Coordinate with Superintendents, Foremen, fabrication, detailing, engineering, vendors, and subcontractors
- Review contracts, drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and project requirements
- Manage change orders, scope changes, billing support, and project documentation
- Coordinate steel sequencing, deliveries, erection activities, manpower, equipment, and site logistics
- Maintain strong communication with customers, general contractors, and project stakeholders
- Identify schedule, cost, constructability, and field issues early and drive solutions
- Visit jobsites regularly and maintain direct awareness of project progress and field conditions
- Partner with Operations and Safety to ensure work is performed safely and in accordance with company and project requirements
- Drive projects to successful closeout while protecting schedule, quality, customer relationships, and profitability
Requirements
- 5+ years of construction project management experience
- Structural steel erection, fabrication, or closely related specialty construction experience strongly preferred
- Proven experience managing projects from award through closeout
- Strong understanding of construction schedules, budgets, forecasting, and change management
- Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, specifications, and contract documents
- Working knowledge of steel erection sequencing, field operations, and construction logistics
- Strong communication, leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively with both field leadership and customers
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction project management software
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent industry experience will be considered
- Ability to travel to project sites as required
- Must be able to meet company pre-employment requirements
