Project Manager - Calgary, AB

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Project Manager to support our growing team in North America. This role requires a hands-on project leader who can plan and execute projects to completion, guide cross-functional teams, manage risks and budgets, and contribute to PTAG's growth through mentoring, business development support, and process improvement.

Role & Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the planning, coordination, execution, and close-out of assigned projects, ensuring alignment with contractual, financial, and regulatory requirements.

  • Define and maintain project WBS, schedule, cost baseline, and risk registers.

  • Monitor performance metrics (SPI, CPI) and implement corrective actions where necessary.

  • Manage engineering, procurement, and construction interfaces within a matrixed environment.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities.

  • Facilitate project meetings, progress reviews, and stakeholder reporting.

  • Foster a highly collaborative, accountable, and inclusive team environment.

  • Mentor and coach junior project staff, promoting knowledge transfer and professional growth.

  • Implement PTAG's Quality, Environmental, and Health & Safety standards throughout all project phases.

  • Ensure compliance with corporate governance and reporting frameworks.

  • Lead or contribute to internal process improvement efforts, including the development of tools, templates, and best practices.

  • Participate in knowledge sharing sessions and contribute to PTAG's internal project management community.

  • Support proposal writing, RFP responses, and client engagement initiatives.

  • Drive adoption of digital collaboration and project management technologies.
Qualifications / Requirements

To succeed in this role, you bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (required).

  • 5-8 years of progressive project management experience in capital projects within the power, energy, or infrastructure industries.

  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and multiple concurrent projects.

  • Strong understanding of project controls, risk management, and earned value analysis.

  • Experience working with government-funded or large industrial projects preferred.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable with project management and collaboration software (e.g., Primavera, SharePoint).

  • PMP certification or P.Eng license preferred (or in progress).

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Must be willing and able to travel and/or relocate within North America to support client projects as required.
