Position DescriptionPosition Summary:The Project Manager is considered the project executive of their assigned projects and is responsible for all decisions made during the life of the project. The Project Manager shall work in concert with all internal team members (Estimating, Accounting, Human Resources, Safety, Field Management and Field Personnel) as well as external team members (Client, GC, Sub-Contractors, Vendors/Suppliers, Other Trade Contractors) to ensure a successful outcome of the project. The Project Manager shall schedule Kickoff Meetings with the appropriate team members to define and discuss requirements along with any specialty needs for each assigned project. The Project Manager is responsible for planning, scheduling, maintaining documentation, quality control and coordination of all aspects of the project utilizing Procore project management software. The Project Manager shall manage all financial aspects of the project to include but not limited to (Budgeting, Forecasting, Purchasing, Negotiating, Work in Progress Reports, Changes in Scope,). As a Project Manager you shall maintain a professional relationships and positive attitude with clients to assure their satisfaction with the work performed and represent PowerWorks in the highest regard.
Primary Responsibilities:- Establish a team concept with project team members.
- Schedule initial turnover / kickoff meetings with appropriate team members
- Plan, staff organize and control activities relating to the project utilizing Procore software
- Review Project Documents (Contract, Plans, Specifications, General and Supplementary conditions)
- Establish budget and manage financial aspects of the project.
- Ensure all Safety and OSHA standards are being followed
- Review all Vendor and Subcontractor packages for compliance with the contract documents
- Issue purchase orders and ensure that materials are delivered to site as needed
- Review manpower needs & requirements with General Superintendent
- Maintain all project documents and logs and insure they are up to date. (Drawings, Submittals, RFIs, Changes, Schedules, Material Status Logs, Correspondence, As-builts, WIPs, Daily Reports, JHA)
- Review and Price changes to the scope of work
- Review work performed on site with regards to quality and compliance to the NEC and contract documents
- Interact and coordinate with the general contractor and other trades to assure project goals and schedule are met.
- Document delays or disruptions to the project progress.
- Resolve conflicts that may affect the work in a timely manner.
- Attend weekly project meetings
- Prepare and submit documentation required for closeout
- Negotiate and resolve concerns with clients
- Hold post project reviews to determine areas of improvement and lessons learned
- Provide routine coordination and supervision to site personnel of assigned projects
- Manage project profitability and cash flow to accepted corporate standards
- Fulfill responsibility as the primary client contact by establishing and maintaining productive relationships with construction management team comprised of individuals from different companies with diverse interests, to ensure efficient coordination of activities
- Manage the project correspondence and contract obligations to achieve company objectives
Position RequirementsDesired Qualifications / Experience:- 5 or more years of Electrical Project Management experience
- Proven track record of managing projects of 1-10 million
- Financial experience in project budgeting, understanding of accounting procedures and contract terms
- Understanding of labor tracking concept for construction jobs and ability to instruct others
- Ability to work within established guidelines/procedures
- Computer literacy in Procore, Outlook Email, Word, Excel, Bluebeam, Accubid Change Order
- Knowledge and understanding of estimating software.
- Excellent communication and people skills - proven leadership ability
- Assertive and confident
- Ability and willingness to interact with clients
- Ability to multitask in fast paced, stressful and adverse environment
- Ability to deal with diverse people and personalities at all levels
- Proactive problem-solving attitude
- Electrical License a plus but not required
