Project Manager - Mission Critical

Position Summary

Cache Valley Electric is seeking an experienced Project Manager - Mission Critical to lead the successful execution of large-scale electrical construction projects within our Mission Critical division.

The Project Manager is responsible for the overall financial performance, schedule, coordination, procurement, documentation, and execution of assigned projects from preconstruction through final turnover. This position works closely with field leadership, general contractors, owners, engineers, vendors, and internal project teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to CVE's quality standards.

The ideal candidate has a strong electrical construction background and experience managing complex, fast-paced data center or mission-critical projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage electrical construction projects from preconstruction and project startup through commissioning, turnover, and closeout.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, cost forecasts, schedules, manpower projections, and financial reporting.
  • Monitor project costs, labor productivity, committed costs, change exposure, and overall project profitability.
  • Review drawings, specifications, contracts, scopes of work, and project requirements to ensure successful project execution.
  • Coordinate closely with Superintendents, General Foremen, Foremen, Project Engineers, VDC/BIM teams, and other field personnel.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with owners, general contractors, engineers, vendors, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, purchase orders, subcontract agreements, and other project documentation.
  • Identify scope changes and prepare pricing, documentation, and negotiations for change orders.
  • Manage procurement of major electrical equipment, materials, and long-lead items.
  • Track equipment procurement, manufacturing, delivery dates, and potential impacts to the project schedule.
  • Participate in project planning, coordination, scheduling, and progress meetings.
  • Review project schedules and coordinate electrical activities with other trades and overall construction milestones.
  • Work with field leadership to develop manpower plans, production goals, installation sequencing, and recovery plans when necessary.
  • Monitor labor productivity and work with field leadership to identify opportunities to improve project performance.
  • Identify project risks, constructability issues, scope gaps, and schedule conflicts and develop solutions with the project team.
  • Support prefabrication and VDC/BIM coordination to improve field productivity and installation efficiency.
  • Ensure project documentation is accurate, organized, and maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage subcontractors and vendors to ensure contractual, schedule, quality, and safety expectations are met.
  • Support QA/QC, testing, commissioning, energization, and turnover activities.
  • Coordinate project closeout, including as-built documentation, O&M manuals, punch-list completion, and final turnover.
  • Provide regular project status, financial, schedule, and risk updates to company leadership.
  • Promote CVE's culture of safety, accountability, quality, teamwork, and customer service.
