Full Job Description
Our Geotechnical team is growing and we are looking for a Project Manager - Denver or Tucson to join us. You are a technical expert in Tailings and Geotechnical Engineering and heavy civil within the mining sector. You will bring scientific/technical mastery, sophisticated regulatory understanding, leadership skills, business acumen, and an entrepreneurial spirit along with a keen interest in growing and evolving the business, leading teams, and mentoring staff.

About the role:
  • Overseeing projects involving multiple service areas and subcontracts as well as stakeholder, client and / or schedule challenges
  • Supporting hiring, integration, development, and mentoring of multidisciplinary staff
  • Provide expert support and advice within and outside of the organization
  • Mentor and develop staff, specifically on geotechnical investigation, mining infrastructures design, foundations design, geotechnical analyses, seismic hazards studies, and preparation of construction drawings and specifications.
  • Utilize technical knowledge and expertise of multidisciplinary knowledge-geotechnical engineering, civil design, tailings and water management to manage multiple projects and leading a team
  • Manage and strengthen relationships with existing clients and network to maximize business opportunities and foster long-term partnerships.
  • Direct and perform highly complex or specialized aspects of the work while collaborating with other project managers


About you
  • Degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering or equivalent is considered an asset.
  • Recognized as an expert in tailings / geotechnical engineering with a dedication to and passion for your discipline.
  • Professional designation (PE) is a preferred.
  • Experience working on heavy civil projects (ie plants)
  • Minimum of 10-20 years of relevant experience working in a consulting engineering or mining industry environment
  • Proficient in slope stability, seepage, and settlement modeling tools (e.g., GeoStudio, FLAC, PLAXIS).
  • Demonstrated experience working on domestic and global projects related to tailings management in the mining industry
  • Proven track record of developing and executing strategic plans for customer and market segments, consistently exceeding business objectives
  • Consulting acumen, including an entrepreneurial spirit, strong self-direction, and overarching belief in client satisfaction
  • Strong people skills and an ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong technical writing skills, with the ability to think critically and problem solve
  • Experience in leading, mentoring, and training staff
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in a second language including Spanish is an advantage.

Salary range: $120,000 - $180,000

Expected Salary: Variation in salary is determined by factors such as qualifications, relevant years of experience, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
