What We Are Seeking

We are seeking a design-forward Project Manager in our Seattle office who is ready to lead complex PK-12 projects and support strong, collaborative teams and meaningful project outcomes.

This role is a good fit for someone who brings a high level of ownership, sound judgment, and leadership, and who is motivated to advocate for design and project excellence while guiding projects from early visioning through construction and building trusted relationships with clients, teams, and stakeholders. You will play a key role in aligning project goals, design intent, and delivery, while contributing to the consistency and strength of our practice.

What The Role Will Be Doing

Project Managers lead projects across all phases, working closely with internal teams, clients, and consultants to deliver cohesive, well-executed work. Responsibilities include:
  • Leading multiple K-12 projects with responsibility for scope, schedule, budget, and quality
  • Aligning project outcomes with client goals, user needs, and community impact
  • Guiding projects from early concept through construction administration
  • Serving as the main point of contact, leading client meetings, presentations, and stakeholder engagement efforts
  • Collaborating with design teams to ensure design intent, technical execution, and project constraints remain aligned
  • Coordinating internal teams and external project partners to support integrated project delivery
  • Leading coordination with permitting agencies
  • Supporting the development and coordination of design and construction documentation
  • Providing direction, mentorship, performance reviews, and support to design staff across levels.
  • Contributing to proposals, interviews, and client pursuits
  • Supporting staffing coordination, project planning, timely project invoicing, and overall team alignment
  • Sharing knowledge and supporting consistent tools, processes, and standards across teams

  • 12+ years of professional experience in architecture, with at least 3 years of Project Manager experience leading PK-12
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects and multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong understanding of project delivery, construction documentation, and construction processes
  • Proficiency in Revit and standard project management tools
  • Registered Architect with licensure in Washington and/or Oregon, or ability to obtain reciprocity within a reasonable timeframe
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clients, consultants, and internal teams
  • Experience balancing big-picture thinking with attention to detail in project execution

Starting annual salary ranges are $105,150 to $135,000 /yr in Seattle, depending on skill set and years of experience. Starting salary is based on the experience stated in your resume and application as part of our pay equity analysis. Mahlum employees are eligible for annual discretionary bonus compensation in addition to their salary.
