Job Summary:

Project Manager IT manages all aspects of system implementation in order to meet customer expectations and maintain a high level of quality through communications, customer service, and organizational practices. The reports to the Director of IT Project Management and is responsible for the management of multiple high- visibility projects which span the Enterprise. The incumbent will establish collaborative relationships with Administrators, Clinicians, Technical staff, consultants and Vendors as required by specific projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leads the project through the project lifecycle from initiation to closing.
  • Educates executives, senior management, business owners, and staff on the PMO structure and practices in support of entity needs as defined by the IT senior leadership.
  • Creates and maintains documentation for PMO standards and processes.
  • Ensures that all steps are taken within the IT PMO implementation process for each project.
  • Identifies and coordinates internal and external resources in order to meet project objectives.
  • Creates and maintains documentation for by using JHS IT PMO standards and processes.
  • Communicates and manages assigned project progress and status on a weekly basis (minimum).
  • Documents, manages and communicates project issues and risks.
  • Facilitates scope definition, work breakdown, task estimates with the project team.
  • Maintains a project plan for each project that communicates tasks, start and completion dates, milestones, dependencies, status and resources.
  • Conducts meetings with appropriate JHS staff to discuss project status, progress, issues while providing meeting agendas and notes.
  • Coordinates and participates in project go live support and communication.
  • Role models behaviors of service excellence and CARE values (Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Expertise).
  • Performs all other related job duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications:

Experience

  • Generally requires 3 to 5 years of related experience.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred.

Skills:

  • Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work accurately while meeting multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
  • Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions.
  • Ability to exercise sound and independent judgment Knowledge and skill in use of job appropriate technology and software applications.
  • Working knowledge of project management tools, repositories and system development life cycle methodologies is required.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Position requires exercise of independent judgment.


Credentials

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
