POSITION PURPOSEThe Project Manager II - Water Management is responsible for leading and delivering capital and sustaining projects that support the performance, reliability, and capacity of site water management systems at Pinto Valley Mine. This role executes projects that are critical to maintaining water balance, supporting tailings deposition requirements, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and operational constraints defined by the Water Management team. The Project Manager works under the direction of the Superintendent, Water Management, to deliver projects that align with the site water strategy and long-term mine planning.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIESWater Infrastructure Project Delivery:W Lead projects related to pipelines, pump stations, water storage, reclaim systems, stormwater controls, and water distribution infrastructure to support site operations and tailings requirements.
System Performance Alignment: Ensure all projects are designed and executed to meet water system performance targets, including capacity, reliability, efficiency, and operational constraints.
Cross-Functional Integration: Coordinate with Tailings Governance & Engineering and Tailings & Water Operations teams to ensure water infrastructure projects align with deposition plans and field execution requirements.
Technical Coordination:- Work with engineering teams and subject matter experts to ensure designs meet hydraulic, mechanical, and operational requirements of site water systems.
- Coordinate with Operations and Maintenance teams to ensure maintainability, accessibility, spare parts, and long-term reliability are considered during project development and execution
- Support constructability reviews, field planning, and tie-in coordination to minimize impacts to active water systems and site operations
- Ensure all project activities are executed in compliance with Pinto Valley Mine safety standards, policies, and procedures Promote a strong safety culture by identifying risks and implementing appropriate mitigation strategies
- Manage multiple engineering projects simultaneously, including capital and sustaining projects
- Lead project planning efforts, including scope development, cost estimation, scheduling, and resource allocation
- Develop and maintain detailed project execution plans, timelines, and budgets
- Coordinate internal and external stakeholders, including operations, maintenance, engineering teams, contractors, and vendors
- Oversee contractor performance to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to specifications
- Monitor project progress and performance, identifying risks, delays, and cost impacts, cost impacts, hydraulic constraints, system downtime, and operational continuity concerns; implement corrective actions as needed
- Track and report project status, including schedule, budget, and key performance indicators
- Support procurement activities, including bid development, contractor selection, and contract management
- Ensure proper documentation, change management, and project controls are maintained throughout the project lifecycle
- Lead project commissioning, startup, and handoff to operations
- Support project closeout activities, including as-built documentation, lessons learned, asset turnover, and final cost reconciliation
- Ensure all projects meet design intent, operational requirements, and regulatory compliance standards
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to project execution, systems, and processes
- Mentor junior engineers and project team members as needed

POSITION REQUIREMENTSEducation & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or related discipline)
- 5-8 years of experience in project management within mining, heavy industry, or industrial environments
- Experience managing capital projects in an operating mine site is preferred
KEY COMPETENCIES & SKILLS- Strong knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, and tools
- Experience with project scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project)
- Financial acumen with experience managing project budgets, forecasting, and cost controls
- Experience with procurement processes, contract management, and contractor oversight
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems preferred
- Strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across all levels of the organization
- Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities
- Valid Arizona driver's license
- Ability to work in both office and field environments
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying weather conditions
- Proficiency in English
WORK ENVIRONMENT- Approximately 50% office-based work focused on planning, coordination, and reporting
- Approximately 50% field-based work supporting project execution, contractor oversight, and commissioning activities
