DescriptionOverviewSite based client facing positions performing PM/CM Services in the California Healthcare (HCAI / OSHPD) Market Sector. Embedded at the client site, work is extensive modernization with simultaneous projects. Additional scope of work includes seismic upgrades.
Duties and Responsibilities- Act as an Owners Representative with direct client facing responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of contracts, drawings, estimates, and specifications to ensure relation and compliance to project requirements
- Manage the design process with the client and designers
- Responsible for onsite quality assurance of contractor work
- Coordinate, direct, and monitor activities of the contractors, subcontractors, engineers, architects, and related performing entities
- Collaboration with IOR and HCAI field officials
- Manage project controls, cost, schedule, performance activities, and procedures required by the client
- Conduct project meetings and provide documentation, administration, and tracking of relevant information
- Ensure contractor, architect, and engineer, adhere to contractual requirements on areas of safety, performance, project staff, and equipment
- Provide management of project logistics, organization, safety, and work force utilization
- Ensure project closeout to obtain guarantees, warranties, and related provisions for final project delivery to the owner
- Perform other duties as required to ensure project success
RequirementsEducation and Experience- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline is preferred
- 8 or more years of Project Manager industry experience is required with 3 or more years in a Healthcare Construction Environment in California (HCAI) is required
- Experience working in the occupied space of an active hospital and directly with its Stakeholders end users (Physicians, Staff and Facilities) is strongly preferred
- Experience successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously is required
- Experience with new ground up healthcare facility projects is preferred
Knowledge and Skills- Knowledge of design requirements, architecturally significant medical equipment, and industry practices specific to the Healthcare (HCAI) sector in California is required
- Advanced knowledge and application of project development, design-phase management, construction estimating, cost, project controls/scheduling, documentation, engineering/construction principles, contracts and delivery methods are required
- Proficient use of the Microsoft Suite of tools is required
- Knowledge of scheduling database tools such as Primavera P6 or Procore is preferred
- Ability to read and comprehend technical drawings and blueprints is required
- Strong collaboration, conflict resolution and team building skills are required and essential
Licenses and Certifications - Valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle record, free from suspensions or restrictions, is required
Travel RequirementsThe position is embedded at the client's project site location, a working hospital facility in Fresno, CA.
Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly work in an office and or construction environment. Conditions regularly include exposure to outdoor elements, hot/cold temperatures, wet atmospheric conditions, and cramped quarters with occasionally loud noise level in the work.
Physical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly sit, stand, walk, talk, or hear and use hands to finger, feel and handle; frequently reach with hands and arms; occasionally climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
