Project Manager /Senior Project Manager - with NPS and federal experience to join our growing team. This position plays a key role in leading and delivering local and regional site development projects while serving as a trusted advisor to long-standing and emerging clients. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Project Management & Delivery- Lead site civil projects from planning and design through construction, including grading, drainage, utilities, and coordination with municipalities and stakeholders.
- Manage scope, schedule, budget, and internal resources to ensure successful project delivery.
- Oversee preparation of plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary internal teams and external consultants.
- Take ownership of project outcomes by leading with integrity, clear communication, and a commitment to delivering quality work that serves both clients and communities.
- Track and report on project KPIs, including schedule adherence, budget performance, and utilization, to drive continuous improvement and accountability. Perform and oversee QA/QC reviews to ensure accurate, thoughtful, and high-quality deliverables that reflect DJ&A's commitment to never compromising on quality.
- Experience with National Park Service (NPS) and federal project delivery strongly preferred.
Client Engagement & Business Development- Serve as a trusted advisor to regional clients, providing responsive service and thoughtful solutions.
- Maintain and grow relationships with prioritized local clients while contributing as a client engagement manager for additional accounts.
- Build trust through responsive service, follow-through, and transparent communication, serving as a long-term partner rather than a transactional consultant.
- Support business development efforts through proposal development, interviews, and client meetings.
- Identify opportunities to expand services and strengthen long-term client partnerships, with a focus on growing relationships with the National Park Service, federal agencies, county governments, and state Departments of Transportation (DOTs).
Leadership & Mentorship- Mentor and support emerging engineers and project managers.
- Foster a collaborative, respectful, and quality-focused team environment.
- Contribute to a respectful, inclusive team culture where people feel supported, challenged, and valued.
Preferred Project Experience:- Site development for public and private clients
- Grading, drainage, and utility design
- Municipal coordination and permitting
- Experience with federal projects is preferred
Education and Experience: - Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Landscape Architecture from an ABET or LAAB-accredited program, or related engineering degree (required).
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or Landscape Architect Registration (LARE) (required).
- 10+ years of progressive civil engineering experience, including project management responsibilities.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Demonstrated commitment to quality, attention to detail, and client service.
Physical Requirements: - Ability to sit, stand, and use computer equipment for extended periods.
- Occasional travel to project sites, including outdoor environments and construction areas.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
