What is the Opportunity?

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager (Heavy Industrial) to lead the successful delivery of large-scale industrial construction projects. The successful candidate will oversee project execution from pre-construction through commissioning, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with quality requirements.

This role is ideal for a construction leader who thrives in dynamic industrial environments and has experience managing multidisciplinary scopes including civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrumentation work.

Please Note: The successful candidate must be willing to travel and support projects across Ontario and other project locations as required.

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Lead the execution of heavy industrial construction projects ranging from brownfield expansions and capital upgrades to greenfield construction projects.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary construction activities involving civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrumentation scopes.
  • Develop and implement execution strategies that maximize self-perform construction capabilities, workforce productivity, and safe delivery.
  • Manage project operations in active industrial facilities while minimizing disruption to ongoing client operations.
  • Collaborate closely with construction managers, superintendents, project controls, procurement, engineering, quality, safety, and commissioning teams.
  • Drive planning initiatives including constructability reviews, workface planning, turnover planning, commissioning readiness, and closeout planning.
  • Ensure compliance with client requirements, regulatory standards, environmental obligations, quality requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Monitor labour productivity, equipment utilization, subcontractor performance, and project financial metrics to achieve project objectives.
  • Lead mitigation and recovery plans when project risks, productivity challenges, scope changes, or schedule impacts arise.
  • Support client relationship management and proposal development activities as required.


What You'll Do Here:

  • 10+ years of progressive construction experience, including project management responsibility on large-scale industrial projects.

  • Post-secondary education in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline. Equivalent industry experience will also be considered.

  • Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary scopes including civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, and/or instrumentation construction.

  • Proven experience managing projects with significant self-perform construction content.

  • Strong knowledge of project controls, scheduling, cost management, contract administration, forecasting, change management, and risk management.

  • Experience leading union and/or non-union workforces in industrial construction environments.

  • Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers, and client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Strong understanding of industrial safety programs, quality management systems, turnover, commissioning, and closeout processes.

  • Ability and willingness to travel to project sites as required.

  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation considered an asset.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification considered an asset.

  • Experience with collaborative delivery models such as Design-Build, EPC, EPCM, Construction Management, Alliance, P3, or Integrated Project Delivery.

  • Experience implementing Lean Construction principles.

  • Experience with BIM, digital construction tools, project controls platforms, or project management software considered an asset.

The expected pay range for this role is: $110,000 - $160,000 per year

Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions. Other considerations may include certifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.
