Project Manager (Hardware)

About the Role

At Torus, we "Value Speed and Quality Equally," which means world-class project management is a must. As a Project Manager on the Hardware team, you will bridge product development, manufacturing, quality, and field operations to deliver energy storage systems on aggressive timelines. Success in this role requires understanding context across the organization, communicating priorities clearly, and ensuring teams stay aligned and moving fast. This isn't a traditional project manager role. It's about making sure the right work happens at the right time for the right reasons.

You'll report directly to the Head of Hardware, and work cross-functionally with electrical, mechanical, firmware, manufacturing, quality, and field operations teams to coordinate delivery of all Torus products.

Who You Are

You thrive at the intersection of technical depth and cross-functional pace - equally comfortable in a design review and a shop-floor huddle. You bring:

• A systems thinker, not just a scheduler You see how a firmware delay ripples into manufacturing and field support, and you plan accordingly. Reflecting our principle to Think About Systems and Data Holistically.
• A bias for clarity over noise You cut through complex technical discussions to give teams a clear answer, an owner, and a deadline. Answer First, every time.
• A builder of trust, not just timelines You earn credibility across electrical, mechanical, firmware, quality, and field teams by Seeking Context First. Understanding their constraints before asking them to move faster.
• Someone who holds the line on both speed and craftsmanship You push urgency without cutting corners, because at Torus we Value Speed & Quality Equally. Do it nice, or do it twice.
• A customer-first prioritizer When trade-offs get hard, you know the Customer Breaks the Tie. And you make sure the team does too.
• Comfortable in ambiguity Fast scale-up means incomplete information; you define a path forward anyway, communicating progress and setbacks with Transparent, Direct updates.
• Steady under pressure You approach technical blockers and field escalations with a Cautiously Optimistic mindset. Realistic about the obstacle and confident in the team's ability to solve it.
• A simplifier You turn complex engineering trade-offs into documentation and stand-ups that keep people aligned without adding bureaucracy. Keep It Simple.

• Allocate engineering resources effectively, tracking workload and capacity
• Monitor progress against plans, identify delays early, and escalate risks appropriately

Cross-Functional Coordination

• Build relationships and trust across cross-functional teams
• Facilitate communication between engineering, quality, manufacturing, production, and field operations
