What You'll Do Day-To-Day

Role Overview
You will plan, coordinate, and deliver maintenance projects, equipment upgrades, process improvements, and special production orders. Projects range from small tasks to multimillion dollar initiatives, all requiring strict nuclear safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. You will work closely with engineering, operations, nuclear safety, QA, maintenance, and contractors to ensure smooth execution within a continuous operation manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Feasibility & Intake
  • Document technical needs for equipment upgrades, plant improvements, or special production campaigns.
  • Assess feasibility based on nuclear process constraints, plant capabilities, and regulatory boundaries.
  • Identify impacts to production, critical equipment, and controlled areas.
  • Support preliminary risk assessments (nuclear safety, radiological protection, criticality safety, industrial hazards).
  • Develop concepts and execution scenarios to support go/no go decisions.
    Proposal Development
  • Create scopes, cost estimates, and schedules aligned with nuclear work planning requirements.
  • Prepare proposals for special production orders with unique customer specs and QA requirements.
  • Coordinate with engineering, QA, nuclear safety, and operations to define technical approaches and resource needs.
  • Identify outage windows or production slowdowns needed for intrusive work.

Project Planning & Initiation
  • Develop detailed project plans integrating nuclear safety controls and configuration management.
  • Lead planning reviews, hazard analyses, and readiness verifications.
  • Coordinate procurement and stakeholder communications.

Project Execution
  • Oversee daily project activities in compliance with plant procedures and safety bases.
  • Coordinate craft labor, engineering support, and contractors in controlled or radiological areas.
  • Track schedule and budget, escalate variances, and propose mitigations.
  • Align work with production priorities and limited operating windows.
  • Maintain configuration management and support testing, commissioning, and turnover to operations.

Closeout
  • Ensure completion and archiving of QA documentation and inspection records.
  • Validate updates to procedures, drawings, hazard analyses, and preventive maintenance plans.
  • Conduct lessons learned reviews and support financial closeout.

Key Competencies
  • Experience in regulated industrial or nuclear environments.
  • Ability to coordinate work in 24/7 operations.
  • Understanding of nuclear safety fundamentals.
  • Strong project management skills (scope, schedule, budget, risk, change control).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effective communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in nuclear fuel manufacturing or regulated nuclear facilities.
  • Familiarity with NQA-1, configuration management, and nuclear regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience with work planning, corrective action programs, and hazard analysis tools.
  • Proficiency with project management software, CMMS, and document control systems.
  • Progress toward CAPM or PMP certification.

Total Rewards Package

Total Rewards Package
  • Salary: $94,000 - $127,000 and may also include annual incentives and performance bonuses. The base salary range is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
