Summary:Provide overall management direction for existing projects and develop new business opportunities relative to a particular client, group of clients, geographical area or type of project.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Plan, organize and staff key field positions with assistance/input from Senior Project Managers and upper management
- Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of company policy
- Initiate and maintain liaison with client and subcontractors to facilitate construction activities
- Monitor/control construction through administrative direction of on-site Superintendent to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget; investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures
- Represent company in project meetings; assist in strategy meetings, etc.
- Manage financial aspects of contracts (fee payment, rental equipment, income/expenses, etc.) to protect company's interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with client
- Supervise the work of the Superintendent and crew as well as the operations administrative staff
- Comprehends, teaches and implements Blum Best Practices
- Regularly reviews the site with the Superintendents for compliance to the project safety plan, stressing a zero tolerance for unsafe work practices and addresses any issues that arise immediately
- Participates in the Blum Strategic Plan

Qualification Requirements- Requires a four year engineering degree or equivalent combination of experience and training/experience plus (five or more years) experience/knowledge of construction, design, finance management required
- Must be able to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance
- Thorough knowledge of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project activities vital; superior communication and interpersonal (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.) skills essential
- Advance understanding of cost accounting, construction technology and working knowledge of Excel and Word
- Excellent communication, organization and supervisory skills essential, as well as the ability to motivate work force
Physical Demands:- Regularly required to sit or stand and walk for extended periods of time with the occasional ability to stoop or kneel
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Vision abilities for this position include close vision as well as distance vision
- Position requires the willingness to work a flexible schedule and travel. Position may require evening and weekend hours, as well as the occasional overnight trip
- Ability to repetitiously use hands and fingers to handle or feel and to manipulate keys on a keyboard
