Overview

We currently have an opportunity for a Project Manager with a background in Hydrogeology or Environmental Engineering to join our growing Engineering, Construction and Remediation Practice in Ann Arbor, MI. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, team-oriented individual looking for career growth and have 15-20 years of remediation-related experience. TRC-s Ann Arbor office is a vibrant, dynamic, solution-driven and fast-paced work environment that provides access to a broad spectrum of professional experiences in an office that thrives on teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate excellence and efficiency in writing, communication, data analysis, professional judgment, and knowledge of scientific principles.
  • Manage and lead investigative field work for a variety of media and pathways, including soil, groundwater, sediment, surface water, and vapor intrusion.
  • Understand our client-s objectives and apply those objectives to developing practical, solution-driven remedial strategies.
  • Manage scope, schedule, and budget for projects.
  • Interface with clients and work with account leads in securing and growing new and flow business.
  • Have a strong sense of responsibility and work ethic.
  • Mentor junior staff.
  • Demonstrate strong quality assurance/quality control skills to perform technical, style and consistency reviews.
  • Manage time effectively and balance multiple fast-paced projects.
  • Understand standards, regulations, and guidance that apply to environmental due diligence.
  • Prioritize safety and have working knowledge of industry health and safety practices.
  • Are conversant with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Project.

Qualifications

  • B.S. or B.A. in Hydrogeology or Environmental, Civil or Chemical Engineering. M.S. or M.A. degree highly preferred.
  • Minimum 10-15 years of environmental consulting and/or professional hydrogeologist or engineering experience with a focus in contaminant investigation and remediation.
  • The preferred candidate will be team-focused and possess excellent communication and writing skills, with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment managing multiple deadlines with a variety of clients and project teams.
  • Solid technical and problem-solving skills.
  • Technical proficiency in navigating the MI Part 201 and/or RCRA Corrective Action programs from site characterization and risk evaluation to no further action.
  • Experience with in situ and ex situ methods of soil and groundwater remediation targeting a variety of constituents.
  • In-depth experience with PFAS investigation and treatment highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in hydrogeological principles and geochemistry as it relates to contaminant transport and remediation.
  • Understanding of the RCRA solid waste rules and monitoring requirements is a plus.
  • Vapor intrusion, soil gas, and indoor air investigation experience preferred.
  • Exposure to environmental consulting work in other Midwest states.
  • Valid driver-s license with 40-hr HAZWOPER certification and an up-to-date 8-hr annual refresher course. 10-hr Construction certification is a plus.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check, drug screen and motor vehicle records check.
