Project Manager

As a Project Manager at Mid-City Electric, you'll take ownership of key large commercial projects, such as data centers and hospitals/medical centers-leading teams, managing budgets, and delivering results that exceed client expectations. What You Will Do as a Project Manager:
  • Lead and manage one or multiple commercial electrical construction projects from inception to completion.
  • Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets to ensure alignment with client requirements and company goals.
  • Coordinate with general contractors, vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Conduct regular project status meetings, provide progress updates, and resolve issues that arise.
  • Monitor project costs, implement cost-saving measures, and identify potential financial risks, developing solutions to mitigate them.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain proactive and effective communication with customers, internal teams, and business partners.
  • Prepare project documentation, including progress reports, change orders, and closeout reports.
  • Assist with the bidding process and contract negotiations as needed.
  • Lead efforts to continually improve project delivery processes.
  • Supervise the work of Project Engineers and Project Coordinators when assigned.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with the Director of Safety to ensure that field operation personnel have the appropriate training and resources to perform work safely.

  • Other duties as assigned to aid in company and professional success.
  • Up to 10% local travel to offices and/or job sites.

Key Experience Needed to Hit the Ground Running:
  • Associate degree in construction management or related field. In lieu of an associate's degree, we will accept 2 years' experience in a construction management-related position.
  • Working knowledge of electrical construction, design, finance, and management.
  • Ability to maximize employee performance through innovative and effective management techniques.
  • Thorough understanding of industry standards and best practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project activities.
  • Proficiency with project management and estimating software and MS Office Suite.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.).
  • Ability to make decisions and recommendations that significantly impact the company's relationship with clients and project profitability.
  • Ability to work under supervision and independently.
  • Ability to deal effectively with people in job duties beyond giving and receiving instructions.
  • Be orderly and systematic in work.
  • See details, recognize errors, and implement corrective action as needed.
  • Use logical procedures in work.
  • Perform a variety of duties that may change frequently.
