Job Summary
The Senior Project Manager will lead the end-to-end implementation of new Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) modules and components, overseeing project scope, schedules, budgets, implementation plans, and risk mitigation. The role involves coordinating multiple vendors and state teams, managing project governance and deliverables, and ensuring the end product meets requirements for the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW). The Project Manager will oversee planning, implementation, go-live, and certification activities while monitoring progress, resolving issues, maintaining stakeholder relationships, and presenting project updates to department executives and legislative stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the end-to-end implementation of new Medicaid Management Information System modules and components, managing scope, schedules, budgets, implementation plans, and risk mitigation.
• Coordinate vendors and project managers through master schedules and project governance processes to monitor risks, timelines, and deliverables.
• Ensure project outcomes meet requirements and deliverables for the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW).
• Coordinate resources across multiple vendors and state teams throughout planning, implementation, go-live, and certification.
• Monitor project progress, analyze performance, and adapt plans as needed to maintain project objectives.
• Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders and provide timely project updates to appropriate audiences.
• Present project progress, risks, and outcomes to department executives and legislative stakeholders.
• Gather requirements and prioritize the execution of data aggregation, analytics, and report development.
• Identify project issues and risks early, communicate them to management, and coordinate resolution.
• Identify decision-making requirements and key stakeholders, develop engagement strategies, and build stakeholder and community awareness and support.
• Identify and coordinate project partners to support successful implementation.
• Support change management, training coordination, and communications to facilitate the adoption of new systems and processes.
Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of project management experience in technology projects within healthcare or state government.
• Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage deadlines, schedules, and critical-path activities.
• Experience gathering requirements and prioritizing data aggregation, analytics, and report development.
• Ability to proactively identify project issues and collaborate with management to resolve them.
• Experience with change management, training coordination, and communication to support successful system and process rollouts.
• 5 years of experience with system and data conversion from legacy systems to new systems.
Preferred Qualifications
• 5 years of experience working with client's agencies.
• 5 years of experience working with state Medicaid agencies.
