Full Job Description
The Project Manager is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the execution of construction projects safely and in compliance with the client's documents and quality requirements. The Project Manager will be mission oriented, goal driven, highly organized and detail oriented. S/he will possess strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills, and exercise good judgment and decision-making skills.

Duties and responsibilities
  • Interface with the client and represent Hylan in all correspondence and meetings
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of all contract documents
  • Develop and analyze preliminary project documentation
  • Organize and plan the execution of the physical work
  • Develop project schedules and direct its planning and execution
  • Communicate and coordinate schedules and plan accordingly with subcontractors and vendors
  • Recognize on-site activities which may impede project progress or jeopardize compliance to project/contract requirements
  • Prepare and provide related informational documents to the clients or other responsible parties and implement corrective measures
  • Maintain strict control of the project budget for each work activity
  • Report monthly on the progress and current profitability of the project
  • Write subcontracts and purchase orders for field generated purchases and contracts
  • Supervise the project activities of the on-site superintendents, craft and staff
  • Promote goodwill with clients to facilitate construction activities and future repeat business
  • Other miscellaneous duties as assigned

Requirements & Qualifications
  • 5+ years of project management experience in the underground utility construction markets, including underground electrical/civil, telecommunications, sewer/water and fiber/electrical conduit work
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering or relevant discipline
  • PMP Certification strongly preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and accuracy of information
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel; estimating and scheduling software skills preferred
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments and priorities in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines with efficiency and accuracy
  • Must be familiar with working in a unionized labor environment
  • Ability to take initiative, work well under pressure, and work independently or under executive direction
