Position Title: Project Manager
Build complex mechanical projects with a team that gives experienced Project Managers the autonomy, resources, and runway to grow.A well-established mechanical contractor is seeking a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to oversee multiple commercial projects throughout the Bay Area, with a primary focus on laboratory and office renovation work. This role will own projects from preconstruction and estimating through execution, financial management, and closeout while working closely with field teams, clients, and internal leadership.
The ideal candidate brings a strong mechanical construction background, prior Project Engineer experience, and at least 2-3 years of Project Manager experience. They are looking for someone who understands the financial and operational side of a project, communicates effectively with field teams, and can confidently manage multiple active projects at once.
Salary Range: $90,000-$185,000 / Year, DOE
Responsibilities - Manage multiple mechanical construction projects, typically ranging from $500K to $5M in value
- Oversee approximately 5-7 active projects depending on project size, complexity, and schedule
- Lead projects through preconstruction, estimating, budgeting, labor planning, execution, and closeout
- Monitor project budgets, costs, schedules, change orders, and overall financial performance
- Coordinate closely with foremen, field teams, clients, subcontractors, and internal leadership
- Maintain regular presence at project sites throughout Silicon Valley and the southern Peninsula based on project needs
- Manage laboratory, office renovation, and other technically complex commercial mechanical projects
Requirements - 2-3+ years of Project Manager experience within mechanical construction
- Previous Project Engineer experience before progressing into project management
- Strong understanding of mechanical construction processes, project budgets, and labor management
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Degree requirement may be considered flexible for highly experienced senior-level professionals with 10+ years of relevant experience
- Ability to independently manage multiple projects and communicate effectively with both field and office teams
