About the Role

The role of the Project Manager is to plan, monitor, control, and be held accountable through subordinates, all aspects of factory automation projects. Assist with the initial project proposals, administration of all technical engineering information, coordinate all in-house staff, performance to schedule, performance to budget, delivery, installation, cash flow and customer satisfaction through the warranty period. Will assume the role of a key member of management to ensure that the customer's needs are met, and project quality is maintained. Set an example of company culture with integrity and professional competence. Adhere to all established procedures as defined by ATS Quality Procedures, Process Flows, Work Instructions, Safety Procedures, and the Employee Handbook.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for creation and performance of the project schedule.
  • Responsible for the project material and manpower budget.
  • Ensure that the purchase order received is compatible with the terms of the project proposal.
  • Conduct regular project meetings with the project team throughout the project.
  • Conduct regular project meetings with the customer, record and distribute the information to the team.
  • Track all contract changes with a written Change Order Request and maintain a revision summary.
  • Coordinate and track the development of design and build through manpower schedules and spreadsheets.
  • Generate historical data as required by other departments.
  • Monitor and own any change orders for assigned projects.
  • Create a project forecast regularly to be reviewed.
  • Own the collection, communication, and customer approval of the FAT Results.
  • Own the collection, communication, and customer approval of the SAT Results.
  • Initiate invoices at customer milestones.


QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
  • A bachelor's degree in mechanical design, mechanical engineering or equivalent is preferred.


Experience:
  • A minimum of two years project development experience in a similar manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Must have a working knowledge of mechanical and controls aspects of factory automation systems.
  • A working knowledge of PC based Microsoft applications for business is required.
  • Must have ability to work with and communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization.


Job Specifications

  • The employee may be required to stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to the floor.
  • Exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or exert up to 10 pounds of force frequently.
  • Visual Acuity - Normal requirements for reading written instructions and computer screens
  • Hearing Ability - Normal requirements for understanding verbal instructions.
  • Working Conditions - The employee is subject to a normal office environment with occasional exposure to high noise levels and/or physical hazards when visiting manufacturing floor.

  • Work in compliance with divisional Health, Safety, and Environmental Procedures.
  • Refrain from removing or altering safety devices or guarding unless hazardous energies are controlled through Lockout-Tagout methods.
  • Report any unsafe conditions or unsafe acts.
  • Report defect in any equipment or protective device.
  • Ensure that the required protective equipment is used for the assigned task.
  • Attend all required Health, Safety, and Environmental training.
  • Report any accidents/incidents.
  • Assist in investigating any accidents/incidents.
  • Refrain from engaging in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running, or rough and boisterous conduct.
