Description
ABOUT THE ROLE
A-1 Electrical Contractors, Inc. is hiring an experienced Commercial Electrical Project Manager to plan, manage, and deliver medium-to-large commercial electrical construction projects from award through closeout. You'll direct the Assistant Project Manager and Field Manager assigned to each project, and you'll be responsible for making sure the project finishes on time, stays within budget, and is installed correctly to the plans, specifications, and electrical code.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
• Planning, Schedule, and WBS: Build and actively manage the project schedule and work breakdown structure from award through closeout, updating durations, float, and critical path as conditions change.
• Decision-Making: Be the job's decision-maker when options and obstacles come up.
• Construction Team Point of Contact: Serve as the primary liaison between the field team and the general contractor, owner, and other trades. All key external communication runs through you.
• Executive Communication: Report directly to the executive team on project goals, status, risk, schedule, and financials, and keep them informed as things change.
• Quality Control: Check that all electrical work is installed to the plans, specifications, and code, and have the field correct any problems right away.
• Schedule and Plan Adjustments: Adjust plans when scope, financing, or field conditions change, and communicate revisions to every stakeholder.
• Financial Management: Complete billings per contract requirements, manage accounts receivable and follow up on payment, and review and approve all project invoices.
• Labor Management: Know your crew's capabilities, manage labor projections to stay ahead of budget, and coordinate all labor moves with the Field Manager.
• Change Order Management: Identify, price, and submit change orders per the contract, on time every time. Never allow out-of-scope work without written direction.
• Jobsite Visits and Meetings: Visit each site at least weekly for quality and progress checks, and attend all job meetings, including OAC and GC coordination meetings.
• Client Relationships: Deliver on commitments, communicate professionally with owners, GCs, and architects, and bring new relationship opportunities to leadership.
