Project IT Manager – North Sea Terminal Bremerhaven Transformation

Lead the technology scope of a major terminal transformation, covering IT, operational technology, communications and modernisation systems.

Work with multidisciplinary teams, global functions, specialist vendors and terminal stakeholders in an international environment.

Apply technologies including cloud, IoT, AI and APIs to help create efficient, connected and future-ready operations.

Build and develop the project ICT delivery team and support the transition to the future operational organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Build the project and future operational ICT organisation, recruiting, coaching and leading skilled professionals.
• Create and manage an integrated technology delivery plan aligned with the wider project schedule, budget, milestones and governance requirements.
• Lead the end-to-end planning, procurement, execution, deployment and delivery of physical ICT assets, software and integrated IT/OT systems.
• Define the final IT/OT set-up in line with shareholder standards, local business requirements, applicable laws and the approved business case.
• Manage ICT contractors, consultants, suppliers and vendors, ensuring clear accountability for quality, progress, safety and delivery.
• Coordinate critical interfaces with civil, equipment, electrical, business integration and headquarters teams, ensuring requirements are ready for integration testing, commissioning and operational go-live.
• Oversee scope changes, risks, quality assurance, testing, commissioning, cybersecurity, compliance and the successful handover of technology assets and systems to terminal operations.

• Bring at least 10 years of experience in an ICT or modernisation project environment, preferably within transport, logistics, shipping or another real-time operational setting.
• Demonstrate relevant project management and project controls experience, including the ability to manage schedules, budgets, changes, risks, vendors and complex technical interfaces.
• Apply a strong understanding of ICT and industrial technology, including port equipment, modernised systems, controls or comparable industrial infrastructure architecture.
• Hold a bachelor’s degree in Information Systems Management or a similar discipline, or a master’s degree or MBA in science, IT management or a related field.
• Communicate clearly in written and spoken English and German, influence stakeholders effectively, and work collaboratively across cultures in a multidisciplinary environment.
