Description

Martin/Martin is seeking a licensed, experienced structural engineer in support of projects in our Atlanta, Georgia office. The hired individual will support our Structural Engineering organization across diverse markets such as healthcare, commercial, office, sports, entertainment, and education.

While this role's specific projects are located in Georgia, Martin/Martin's national footprint provides opportunities to work on projects around the country.

Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Lead and manage engineering and technician staff to successfully complete projects
  • Client Interaction: Build relationships with the project team and serve as the primary point-of-contact for clients and contractors throughout the design and construction phases
  • Planning and Budgeting: Develop, monitor, and manage project work plans, schedules, and design budgets
  • Quality Assurance: Develop and implement project-specific QA/QC plans
  • Mentorship: Act as a mentor and resource for less experienced staff, assisting with their career development


Requirements

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited engineering curriculum.
  • Completed a minimum of 12 months as a Professional Engineer (PE)
  • 6 years of progressive engineering experience
  • 1 year of professional experience equivalencies include a Master's degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering, OR passing the 16-hour NCEES structural engineering exam
  • Must be eligible to work for any employer in the United States, without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Ability to work in the Atlanta area. Relocation reimbursement may be provided, depending on the role and job function.
  • Demonstrates ability to be in responsible charge of projects

Desired
  • Successfully managed multiple projects and followed them from start of design to completion of construction
  • Demonstrates effective internal and external communication skills
  • Shows strong commitment to continued professional development
  • Participating member of at least one professional and/or technical society
  • Demonstrates willingness to take on additional work and responsibility
  • 2 years' experience as a Professional Engineer. Passed the 16-hour structural engineering exam.

Working Conditions, Skills and Abilities

This position is primarily technical in nature and requires working inside and outside the office to complete a wide range of activities. The following abilities are required:
  • Move inside or outside the office and on non-ADA accessible construction sites
  • Remain stationary for long periods of time
  • Repetitive movement on tasks such as using a keyboard or mouse
  • Carry, ascend, and descend a ladder
  • Identify color
  • Read, communicate, and document in English
  • Determine and exchange accurate information
  • Occasionally move or hold equipment weighing up to 50 pounds

Compensation

The wage range for this role considers the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. This role's total compensation is inclusive of:
  • Base Salary
  • Accrued Time: This is a salaried position with accrued time eligibility. Accrued time allows additional compensation or time-off to be earned for any eligible hours worked exceeding 40 hours per week.
  • Base Salary Review: This role is eligible to participate in Martin/Martin's annual base salary increase review process.
  • Annual Bonus: This role is eligible to participate in a discretionary annual bonus program.

Base salary review and increases, in addition to annual bonuses, are dependent on various factors, including a hired individual's job-level and annual company performance.
