Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain project schedules, including three-week and 90-day look-ahead plans.
  • Support project superintendents with scheduling and resource coordination.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies and OSHA standards.
  • Maintain as-built drawings and respond to daily project challenges while keeping broader project goals in focus.

Project Engineer

Department: Operations

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: Los Angeles-- North Hollywood

Compensation: $115,000 - $145,000 / year

Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Managing costs; including tracking quantities and cost for production operations and materials.
  • Managing of subcontractors including scheduling, progress, and payments.
  • Writing and managing RFI's and Submittals
  • Powerful verbal and written communication skills
  • An understanding of Contract documents and associated requirements for; change orders, requests for compensation, and time extensions.
  • Project schedules including 3 Week and 90 Day Look Ahead Schedules
  • Experience on bid-build unit price and lump sum projects with an understanding of the measurement and payment requirements
  • Support and maintain as built drawings
  • Coordination with project superintendents regarding schedule and resources including people, equipment, materials, subcontractors, suppliers, etc.
  • Assures compliance with Company safety policies and OSHA safety standards
  • Multi-tasks and stay focused on the big picture while addressing daily issues


Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Requirements:
  • A degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management with relevant work experience accepted in lieu of degree.
  • 5-10 years' experience working on public works projects with both field and office responsibilities is required.
  • Excellent communication skills are required. Ability to listen, engage, and influence is vital.
  • Excel--Ability to navigate spreadsheets and utilize Excel as a tracking system required.
  • A Driver's License in good standing is required


Preferences:
  • Prior experience working in the greater Los Angeles County region is preferred
  • Those with water/wastewater experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
