Responsibilities

Functions as a project engineer in Construction and is responsible for assisting in the management of the construction process under the direction of the Project Manager(s).
  • Participate in Trade Procurement and Management.
  • Maintain thorough understanding of contract documents and subcontracts.
  • Maintain and track and update all Construction Project Documents.
    • Maintain and update Construction Drawing set
    • Maintain Master drawing list that shows history of drawing changes
    • Track and distribute Bulletins issued by the design team
    • Provide feedback to CM and Architect on Bulletins
    • Prepare, review and distribute RFIs. Maintain RFI Log
    • Prepare, review and distribute Submittals. Maintain Submittal Log
  • Schedule, Attend and Prepare meeting minutes for job meetings.
  • Develop and maintain schedule with Project Superintendents and Project Managers.
  • Maintain progress and quality documentation with Superintendent.
  • Ensure Related Beal procedures and standards are maintained.
  • Review and provide feedback for monthly requisition.
  • Manage project closeout and obtain all warranties required for final acceptance.

Qualifications

The Project Engineer must possess the following skill sets:
  • Communication: To effectively convey ideas, vision, goals and issues to execute project goals .
  • Leadership: Works with all parties involved in project to resolve any issues, while ensuring schedule, cost, and design are met.
  • Management: Execution of project objectives and takes a proactive approach to project cost and timing. Ability to effectively direct, coordinate and manage activities to meet project objectives.
  • Negotiation: Utilizes effective cost management while dealing with design, contractor and/or subcontractor costs while maintaining integrity of relationship.
  • Safety/ Risk Management: Analyzes, predicts and creates solutions to issues before they arise to increase likelihood of delivering a successful project.
  • Quality: Performs work in a timely manner all with attention to detail, thoroughness and accuracy.
  • Functional: Ability to work in a team environment and independently. Ability to prepare, analyze and forecast budget.
  • Communication: Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, and field experts. Ability to prioritize workload. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Behavioral: Professional in demeanor and overall behavior. Takes initiative and takes responsibility/ownership of decisions, actions and results.


Education: Accredited Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management or a related field. Relevant experience can serve as a substitute for the degree requirement.

Professional Experience: Internship at a Developer or GC is a plus, but not required.

Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Word, and Outlook. Working knowledge of Primavera Scheduling and Expedition Construction Management and Cost Control programs is a plus.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have light physical duties. The employee is required to stand, walk and sit and must be physically able to walk through job sites regularly and on multiple occasions daily. The employee must have the ability to communicate in English, both verbally and written. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus.

Compensation

The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. In addition to a competitive base salary, you will be eligible to receive discretionary bonus incentives and a comprehensive benefits package.

Anticipated base salary range: $80,000 - $100,000

Actual base salary within the anticipated range will be determined by several components including, but not limited to, the individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and market factors.
