Full Job Description
Overview

As a Project Engineer - MEP, you will track and analyze cost data, ensuring our projects stay on budget. Your expertise in resource monitoring and control, combined with your construction knowledge, will keep our projects running smoothly and efficiently.

Join our landmark infrastructure project that is expanding one of the East Coast's most iconic and vital transportation corridors, the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel. This 17.6-mile bridge-tunnel complex, recognized as an engineering marvel of the modern world, is undergoing a major design-build expansion with the construction of the Parallel Thimble Shoal Tunnel to enhance capacity, safety, and reliability for travelers between Virginia Beach and the Eastern Shore.

The new bored tunnel (a first-of-its-kind in the Mid-Atlantic) will carry southbound traffic while the existing tunnel will carry northbound traffic, significantly improving traffic flow and operational redundancy. This project offers an exceptional opportunity to work on challenging marine construction, deep foundation, and tunnel structures that will have a lasting impact on regional mobility and commerce.

  • Evaluate daily production, schedule and budget projections to accurately track project performance.
  • Update project schedule weekly for owner and management reporting.
  • Prepare and manage a three-week work plan. Notifies engineering and project management of any significant schedule changes and develops solutions to mitigate delays and cost.
  • Initiate and manage all Requests for Information (RFIs).
  • Remit accurate project quantities using assigned project cost coding to ensure project financials are accurately reported.
  • Manage invoicing with accounting team regarding materials, equipment and subcontractor needs.
  • Review certificates and permits needed to perform work.
  • Review required Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs) to ensure a safe and compliance work environment for all construction personnel.
