We are seeking a Project Engineer with experience in bridge construction or rehabilitation projects, with a particular focus on mechanical bridge systems. This position supports the planning, coordination, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of movable bridge components, including machinery systems, structural steel interfaces, hydraulic equipment, mechanical drive systems, bearings, and related infrastructure. The Field/Project Engineer works closely with project management, superintendents, subcontractors, owners, and design teams to ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with contract requirements.
Job Description:
Support the construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance of movable bridges, including bascule, swing, and vertical lift bridge systems.
Coordinate installation of mechanical equipment including gears, motors, reducers, hydraulic power units, cylinders, machinery frames, trunnions, bearings, and operating systems.
Review contract drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and equipment submittals for compliance with project requirements.
Assist with project scheduling, procurement tracking, cost control, and subcontractor coordination.

Participate in inspections, testing, commissioning, and operational acceptance of mechanical bridge systems.

Qualifications

OSHA 30 certification preferred.
