Full Job Description
Role and Scope of Position:

Participates in the planning, development, scheduling and performance of engineering assignments related to new and existing pipeline safety regulations in CT, MA and at the federal level. The Project Engineer will be:
• Supporting operations & maintenance procedures, applying engineering concepts to develop data processing methodologies, and troubleshooting/analysis of system disturbances with stakeholders.
• Supporting activities associated with roll-out of new and revised regulations in MA and CT, including analysis of new regulations impacts and associated implementation planning.
• Aiding in completion of general day-to-day tasks of the Policy & Compliance team.

This position requires the application of engineering practices as directed by the Manager, Policy & Compliance or their designee.
Essential Functions:
  • Develop and maintain company standards, as directed to ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations and codes.
  • Coordinates resources required to complete processes or projects.
  • Monitor regulatory updates and communicate changes to key stakeholders, ensuring proactive response to evolving requirements.
  • Monitor and track industry best practices and emerging trends in regulatory compliance to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • As directed, will lead implementation of new compliance initiatives resulting from new gas regulations.
  • Provide necessary details to training organizations to ensure understanding and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with legal counsel to interpret and apply regulatory requirements accurately.
  • Delivers superior service to our customers, both internal and external, in a reliable, attentive, courteous, quality, proactive and timely manner.
  • Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities.
  • Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Maintains accurate documentation.
  • Supports the company's goals and represents the company positively and professionally.
  • Assist in gas distribution system restoration efforts during emergencies.
  • Understanding of Operator Qualification Programs and associated training considered a plus.


Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:

Technical Knowledge/Skill:
  • Knowledge of gas distribution construction and maintenance work practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of applicable governmental codes and regulations, with the ability to interpret and apply complex regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with MS Office.


Education:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology or related discipline.


Experience:
  • Minimum of five (5) years of related engineering experience
  • Gas experience is a plus


Licenses & Certifications:
  • Valid Driver's License required


Working Conditions:
  • Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
  • Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
  • This position is categorized as safety-sensitive for the purpose of drug testing.
  • Successful applicants shall be subject to a pre-assignment drug test if the individual is currently in a non-safety sensitive position. As an employee in this position, the individual shall be subject to random drug testing. A positive drug test will result in disciplinary action.

Compensation and Benefits:

$116,370.00-$129,300.00
