What is the Opportunity?The Steam Generator Replacement Team (SGRT) project is a fully integrated Joint Venture of Aecon and Framatome, located in Kincardine, Ontario. SGRT is a part of the Major Component Replacement (MCR) project and includes the removal of the steam generators and the installation of replacement steam generators with related plant modifications. This project is part of Bruce Power's Life Extension Program, which will allow Bruce Power's CANDU units to continue to operate safely through to 2064. In addition to the existing contracts for Unit 3 and Unit 4, SGRT has been awarded contracts for Unit 5, 7, and 8 for steam generator replacements as part of the Bruce Major Component Replacement project.
The Project Director reports to the Executive Steering Committee. This is a site-based role located in Kincardine, ON.
What You'll Do Here- Leading complex team with various disciplines from project controls, operations, finance, LR etc.
- Focus on proactively improving execution through innovation, lessons learned and productivity improvement.
- Effectively managing interactions with challenging clients to maintain positive relationships, resolve conflicts, and achieve desired outcomes, fostering long-term partnerships.
- Effectively collaborating with partners from different organizations to achieve common goals, leveraging diverse expertise and resources while navigating complex relationships and shared responsibilities.
- Develop an appropriate execution organization that has the ability to execute major refurbishment projects.
- High level of executive management exposure which will include having built, managed and sustained a high performing business to deliver profitable growth.
- Significant experience and understanding of the Nuclear Industry and its approaches, including requirements of both Owners and Contractors
What You Bring To The Team- BSc in Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 20+ years of experience in managing major refurbishment or large scale Nuclear projects.
- Understanding of Nuclear Safety Culture & INPO principles, must have experience in the Nuclear Market.
- Heavy technical requirements on welding.
- Need to demonstrate Safety as the paramount value and lead by example.
- Contract Management & Risk Management.
- Must be knowledgeable of INPO (Institute of Nuclear Power Operation) practices and principles, and practice same.
- Must have a full appreciation of the importance of Quality Assurance Programs and their significance to the nuclear industry.
- Experience as a Nuclear Operator is important to the execution of the project from the standpoint of the various phases of the project.
- Understanding of steam generator design, materials, and maintenance.
- Experience with heavy lifting and transportation equipment is crucial.
- Knowledge of and existing relationships within the nuclear sector.
- High level of executive management exposure which will include having built, managed and sustained a high performing business to deliver profitable growth.
- Significant experience and understanding of the Nuclear Industry and its approaches, including requirements of both Owners and Contractors
- Able to handle high pressure on delivery dates.
