What you will be doing!

• Planning, organizing, leading, and coordinating project activities to support the successful delivery of large-scale remediation and restoration projects.
• Implementing project management tools, processes, and best practices to achieve project objectives and stakeholder expectations.
• Ensuring safety, quality, health, and environmental requirements are integrated into project designs and work plans.
• Managing changes in project scope, schedule, costs, and stakeholder impacts while maintaining alignment with project objectives.
• Identifying project risks, challenges, and barriers and developing appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Reporting project progress, status updates, and key information to senior management and clients.
• Balancing project priorities and coordinating responsibilities across multiple work packages and project interfaces.
• Supporting contract administration and procurement activities for complex project requirements.
• Coordinating the efforts of CNL staff, consultants, contractors, and vendors to support project execution.
• Promoting a positive, inclusive, and collaborative team environment.
• Ensuring project deliverables are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality expectations.
• Collaborating with stakeholders and communication teams to support project engagement activities and public-facing initiatives as required.
• Supporting compliance with federal and provincial regulatory requirements applicable to remediation and nuclear projects.
• Other duties as assigned by your manager.

What we are looking for:

• Education
  • Degree or diploma from a recognized college or university in Project Management, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
• Experience
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible project experience, preferably supporting large construction and/or remediation projects.
  • OR
  • Eight (8) or more years of progressively responsible project experience, preferably supporting large construction and/or remediation projects.
  • Experience supervising contractors, consultant engineers, and vendors performing field work or construction activities.
  • Experience coordinating large, multidisciplinary projects with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
  • Experience using project management software, tools, and practices to plan, execute, and control projects is considered an asset.
• Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, resourcing, contract management, and progress reporting.
  • Applied knowledge of project management principles, including scope, cost, schedule, quality assurance, communications, human resources, risk, procurement, and integration management.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and successfully deliver complex projects in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong leadership, team-building, and consensus-building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and coordinate the work of contractors, consultants, and vendors.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively engage stakeholders at all levels of an organization.
  • Proven ability to assess risks, evaluate options, and make sound decisions within delegated authority.
  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships with clients, regulators, contractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of remediation, construction, civil projects, construction safety practices, and nuclear industry requirements.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Security Clearance Eligibility Required
  • Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's "Standard on Security Screening" and the "Policy on Government Security."

Working Conditions:

• Working schedule: Five (5) days per week, seven and a half (7.5) hours per day for a thirty-seven and a half (37.5) hour work week.

The CNL Historic Waste Program Management Office and the Port Hope Area Initiative projects are situated on the traditional lands of the Williams Treaties First Nations, specifically the Gunshot Treaty negotiated between the Crown and Mississauga Nation during the 1780s and represented today by the Williams Treaties First Nations. The Mississauga Nations are also signatories to various 18th and 19th century treaties that covered lands in different parts of south-central Ontario. In 1923, the Mississauga First Nations and the Chippewa First Nations consisting of Rama, Beausoleil and Georgina Island signed the Williams Treaties and together, over 90 years later in June 2018, joined to ensure that their rights and the relationship with these lands are respected through a renewed agreement with Canada and the province of Ontario. The area in which we are situated is also home to Indigenous Peoples from across the region and Canada.
