Responsibilities

  • Own project control activities like Cost Control, Management of Change, Forecasting, and Scheduling
  • Interface with project personnel to establish project WBS/CBS and control applications
  • Setup, generate, and update engineering and construction progress reports
  • Ensure accuracy of coding on daily timesheets and procurement requisitions
  • Manage the project change management process and maintain the Change log
  • Guide construction planners/schedulers in developing resource-loaded project schedules
  • Ensure all reporting timelines are met and data integrity is maintained
  • Represent Project Controls in team and client meetings and prepare monthly financial reports

Full Job Description
Client is seeking a Project Controls Manager to join our Project Controlsteam at our offices in Edmonton

Calgary, Alberta

Primary Objectives

  • To support the project control personnel of projects utilising the Worley Project Control Systems and processes in all phases of project execution
  • Work with project teams to provide guidance on Project Controls requirements and data gathering
  • Provide strong leadership to the entire PC team both locally and globally
  • Ensure accurate and on-time reporting of data


Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the project control activities i.e. Cost Control, Management of Change, Forecasting, Progressing and Scheduling and Planning on Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) projects and ensure integrity of the data being processed
  • Interface with project personnel to establish project WBS/CBS and ensure that control applications are set up according to the project controls plan using approved control budget data, project WBS/CBS and appropriate control accounts/cost codes
  • Interface with project controls team to setup, generate and update Engineering / construction progress and cost reports.
  • Ensure accuracy of coding on all daily timesheets and organize cost coding on Procurement requisitions and Subcontractor invoices
  • Manage project change management process including development and submission of change proposal for client approval, setup and maintenance of Change log
  • Guide construction planners/schedulers in the development and maintenance of resource loaded project schedule
  • Ensure all reporting timelines are met, and data integrity is maintained
  • Represent Project Controls in meetings with project team, client and sub-contractor
  • Organize monthly cost review and change management meetings
  • Liaise with Client for reporting purposes
  • Preparation of monthly financial reports for the project. Also prepare other financial analysis as required on an ad hoc basis
  • Implement financial controls including controlling authorisations of expenditure and cash flow projections
  • Preparation of budgets in conjunction with engineering and construction team members
  • Ensure effective coordination and cooperation between other team members, particularly on cost and planning (forecasting)
  • Training and mentoring of project controls personnel
  • Liaise with project teams to ensure the correct utilisation of the project control systems based on project specific requirements and corporate guidelines
