PROJECT SCHEDULES
Schedules will be built and maintained in Primavera P6 utilizing the latest template and WBS.
The schedule template may be added to or reduced to manage the project's scope. However, the schedule will contain enough detail that someone unfamiliar with the project could read it and understand the scope and strategy: what is being installed, when it is being installed and what the critical path is to completion.
All project schedules will be updated monthly at a minimum to align with the issuance of project reports.
After status updates are entered, the schedule will be analyzed to determine the impact to the critical path and mitigation plans created if necessary.
Update cycles mainly depend on the current phase of the project. Prior to project construction, monthly updates are the minimum requirement. However, once a project is under construction, weekly updates could be expected.
All project schedules will be baselined at each gate. However, the G3 baseline will be assigned as the primary baseline in P6.
Baselines should be labeled to identify the corresponding gate.
A baseline will be saved after each update cycle and can be assigned as the secondary baseline (up to a maximum of 10 baselines can be assigned).
After each update cycle the analyst will be responsible for producing the overall project schedule and publishing it
Other common / standard schedule reports that should be readily available are:
Critical path schedule
2-4 week lookahead
Milestone report
Schedule variance report
