Programming & Editorial ManagerAbout The Role
The most interesting story in technology right now is the one WEKA is helping to write: what actually happens to infrastructure when AI stops being a demo and starts being an economy. We have the engineers, the customers, and the research to tell those stories. We need a strategist who turns them into programming: real work, shipped every week, on channels we own.
WEKA is seeking an Programming & Editorial Manager to run the content engine that sits inside our digital team, which owns strategy, programming, distribution, and performance across WEKA's owned channels: the website, YouTube, our LinkedIn presence and newsletters, the Deep Geeks podcast, and other online communities where WEKA plays. Your job is to keep those channels healthy and growing, help to build audience and engagement, and drive the downstream performance we count on. The operation is already up and running, and it's ready for someone to take it further.
In this role, you will be the content strategist and producer behind the programming, not a copy desk. The best stories here live in the heads of our engineers and customers, and your job is to bring them out: find the angle, shape the piece through the writers you direct, and bring it to life across content formats. Some weeks will lean toward thought leadership and story development, others toward campaign planning, editorial calendaring and sequencing, or program coordination.
You'll report to the Senior Director, Digital, oversee our contract writers, and work side by side with the people who run our channels every day: our organic social lead, the web team, our search and GEO specialist, and our customer advocacy, communications, and creative teams. The best programming is made together, and the mandate is genuinely fun: make great work and ship it, together.
We're an AI-forward team, too. Marketing here is being built as an AI-enabled production line. Our editorial calendar lives in tooling you can query, and WEKA's brand and editorial standards are productized as AI skills you'll use every day. If you understand the art of a good story, can carry it across formats, and are as comfortable in analytics, the CMS, and AI tooling as you are in a story meeting, you'll find this role rewarding.
What You'll OwnThe Programming- A steady output our channels can count on. You're accountable for much of what publishes across our owned channels and how it performs: work that grows audience and engagement, and that supports where the campaign teams are headed.
- Ideas that compound. Strong material should show up everywhere it can work: as an article, a clip, a newsletter feature, a resource page. We want a library where the best ideas keep earning, not a feed where they publish once and disappear.
- Programming built with partners. Every channel has a talented owner behind it, and the work lands best when we plan it together. You'll trade ideas with our social and video leads, shape pages with the web team, and pair with our SEO and GEO specialist so everything you publish works as one connected experience.
- Work that clears the bar. Everything you ship is accurate, meets WEKA's brand and editorial standards, and is worth a reader's time. Technical material (GPUs, inference, memory architecture, token economics) comes out the other side compelling without losing its rigor. WEKA's brand governance desk owns the standards and final review; your job is to deliver work so strong that review is the fastest step in the process.
The Calendar- The source of truth. When anyone in marketing wants to know what's publishing, when, and who owns it, your calendar is the vision and the answer, and people trust it because it stays true.
- Work that keeps moving. A healthy publishing rhythm where deadlines are met without drama, risks surface early, and aging work gets refreshed or gracefully retired. You'll have real freedom to build that rhythm the way you know works.
The Machine- Content that people and engines find. WEKA's work ranks in search, earns accurate citations from LLMs, and reads as one connected library rather than scattered pieces.
- A production system that gets faster every quarter. AI runs through how we produce, and you'll keep making the production workflows behind the work better: for yourself, your writers, and the team around you. Our governance functions own and maintain the AI skills that encode WEKA's brand and editorial standards; you'll be one of their heaviest users and best sources of feedback.
- Decisions made on evidence. You know what's performing across velocity, freshness, engagement, organic and LLM-referred traffic, and citations, and you use it to double down on what works and let go of what doesn't.
- Writers doing their best work. Our contract writers report to you. Set them up to succeed with clear briefs, honest feedback, and a standard they can see; champion them when they deliver; and grow the bench thoughtfully as the work grows.
Qualifications- 6+ years in editorial, journalism, or content strategy and management roles, with real time spent in B2B technology. Ideally, you will bring a mix of writing, story development, and hands-on production, including directing writers, freelancers, or agency resources. Producer, managing editor, reporter-turned-brand journalist: the titles vary, and we care about the work.
- You still love the craft behind the craft: picking clips, writing headlines, packaging an episode, shaping metadata or a description. Years in, that work still energizes you.
- Experience running a busy editorial calendar across several formats and many stakeholders, and keeping it moving on its own steam.
- Enough fluency in AI, cloud, or data infrastructure to hold a real conversation about inference and memory, plus the judgment to call in an expert when you've reached the edge of what you know.
- Daily working use of AI tools in your own practice, including workflows you built yourself. You can tell a finished draft from one that's merely fluent.
- Working knowledge of SEO and generative engine optimization, and how internal linking and content structure earn rankings and citations.
- A genuine collaborator. You've done your best work in partnership with designers, video producers, social and SEO leads, subject matter experts, and standards owners, and they'd say the same about working with you.
- A sharp story sense and published work you're proud of. A newsletter you ran, a podcast you produced, or a video series you shipped counts as much as bylines.
Good to Have- Experience publishing in Sanity, or another headless CMS, is a real plus.
- Producer experience in a newsroom, studio, publication, or branded media team, where shipping on schedule was the whole point.
- You've taken a federated but active content operation and made it predictable.
