Program Manager- Risk Engineering Solutions (RES)Job DescriptionCBRE is seeking a detail-oriented Program Manager to support project planning, management, and execution activities for Amazon's Global Building Design Risk & Recovery (GBDR) organization, with a primary focus on Risk Engineering Solutions (RES) program execution. GBDR brings together Disaster Recovery & Investigations (DRI), Building Design & Engineering (BD&E), and Risk Engineering Solutions (RES). Although programs span global regions including North America, Europe, and expanding to Rest of World (Japan, Australia, Brazil, etc.), the primary focus of this role is North America and Europe. This is a US-based role, with a strong preference for candidates located in the Central or Eastern time zones.
The Program Manager will partner with RES, DRI, and BD&E customer and stakeholder teams to verify and track business needs, drive cross-functional collaboration, manage program reporting, establish and track metrics, and mitigate project risks. The successful candidate is a natural self-starter and problem solver who invents and simplifies where needed, such as improving risk assessment tracking mechanisms, optimizing program workflows, and streamlining vendor management processes. The role requires someone adept at navigating ambiguity and conflicting priorities who can earn trust with global teams while maintaining a high level of integrity. This individual should be comfortable operating autonomously while seeking regular input and feedback from a multitude of stakeholder groups.
The ideal candidate will have a background in architecture or engineering with experience managing commercial/industrial design and construction projects that span technical and non-technical teams. This individual should be comfortable managing and tracking program plans and project updates to provide weekly/monthly data-driven status updates across all levels of leadership.
Responsibilities- Track and report on RES program performance, key metrics (cost of risk reduction, cost savings/avoidance, response time rates), and lessons learned through dashboards, newsletters, and white paper contributions
- Scope, validate, and establish program initiatives that address RES stakeholder challenges across natural hazards assessments, risk audits of existing facilities, and new technology development and testing in support of these programs
- Autonomously manage and facilitate weekly alignment meetings on RES program-specific updates with product/software development, finance, engineering, preconstruction, procurement, and third-party vendor stakeholders
- Drive automation of RES manual workflows by developing and deploying agentic AI solutions, or identifying clear value propositions where AI is not preferred
- Support GBDR program execution as needed, including tracking Engineering Risk Assessment (ERA) findings, Natural Hazard Due Diligence assessments, and construction risk audit pilot sites
- Partner with BD&E to ensure DRI and RES learnings and corrective/preventative actions (CAPAs) are tracked and integrated into design standard updates
- Independently manage and influence without authority to drive completion of deliverables that meet quality and safety standards, tracking progress and reporting on work completed
- Identify and drive improvements to in-house tools by partnering with product development teams, recommending user stories, driving product roadmaps, and conducting user acceptance testing (UAT)
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction, Business, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in complex program management and implementation, with proven ability to design workable solutions and drive programs to completion
- Experience managing projects that span technical and non-technical teams across multiple geographies
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment, including managing competing priorities across concurrent active incidents or programs
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to manage, influence, negotiate, and communicate with external business partners and internal stakeholders at all levels
- Proficient in project management software (such as Asana or Jira), AI prompting and basic agentic development (Claude, Quick, ChatGPT, Gemini) and Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications- MBA, Master's degree, or advanced degree in Construction, Architecture, Engineering, or related field
- Proficiency in dashboarding and visualization tools such as Amazon Quick or Tableau
- Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification
- Experience managing cross-functional stakeholder teams and external vendor relationships in high-urgency environments
