The Mk21A Program is the strategic missile development and qualification program responsible for designing, building, testing, and qualifying the Reentry Vehicle, Avionics, and support equipment that carries the payload for the Sentinel Weapon System.

The MK21A Arming & Fuzing Assembly (AFS) Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead is fully responsible for cost, schedule, and technical performance associated with design, build, test and delivery of all AFS hardware required for the MK21A EMD program. The selected candidate will lead and integrate professionals from engineering, supply chain, contracts, finance, planning and operations to ensure performance to the program baseline within the IPT.

The IPT Lead will lead and manage multiple direct reports including Program Managers / Control Account Managers (CAMs), and serve as the primary customer POC at the IPT level. The IPT Lead is responsible for overall performance of each of these Control Accounts and will manage each of them accordingly. This individual will report to the MK21A Vehicle Sr PM and be able to provide clear summary performance, status and issues to all levels of the MK21A Program and Strategic Reentry Programs organization.

Directs all phases of programs from inception through completion. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs. Participates in the negotiation of contract and contract changes. Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract. Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance. Establishes design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test. Develops new business or expands the product line with the customer. Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications. Directs the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas.

Basic Qualifications

  • Proven experiences in developing and executing cost and schedule baselines
  • Experience working with multiple functions simultaneously to execute a program, including Program Management, Engineering, Production, Supply Chain, Planning and Finance
  • Control Account Management (CAM) experience, or related, including knowledge or expereince with Earned Value Management (EVMS), or risk/opportunity management and managing performance metrics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with staff, customers, management, and peers
  • Strong customer relationship skills
  • Ability to travel on an as-needed basis


Desired Skills

  • Direct experience as a Program Manager or IPT Lead
  • Proven experience in driving and implementing affordability and producibility changes, especially those directly impacting program performance
  • Experience with Digital Transformation tools and application to improve program performance
  • Experience executing Design for "X" concepts, and performing DfX scorecard assessments - Leading the design and development culture to focus on Digital Engineering and Design for "X" to ensure efficient design and production without escapes, and enhanced communication across all functional disciplines
  • Direct Subcontract Management experience
  • Direct Production Operations experience
  • Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice
  • Familiar with Air Force Reentry Vehicle programs and Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center / ICBM Customer
  • Experience across the entire program life cycle.


Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $166900.00 - $309900.00

Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Flexible work arrangements and schedules (e.g., 4x10), 401(k) match, Paid time off, Holidays, Parental Leave, EAP, Flexible Spending Accounts, Education Assistance, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, and Long-Term Disability.
  • Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
