Full Job Description
Job Summary:

The primary role for the Production Testing Software Engineer is to develop, deploy, and maintain robust test software architecture utilized on the production line to validate hardware functionality during mass production (MP). Minimizes factory cycle times (tact time) and maximizes manufacturing yield by designing automated, stable, and highly parallelized testing scripts that eliminate human bottlenecks. Implements central data collection systems to upload real-time shop-floor test logs to cloud databases, enabling immediate statistical process control (SPC).

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize automated production test software and instrument-control programs to validate product functionality, improve test accuracy and repeatability, and support efficient manufacturing operations.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) by converting and deploying R&D test scripts into stable, scalable production test solutions, ensuring test coverage, functionality, and readiness for manufacturing ramp-up.
  • Integrate production test systems with MES and data-logging platforms to ensure accurate test data collection and traceability. Analyze Statistical Process Control (SPC) data and test trends to identify abnormalities and support manufacturing quality improvements.
  • Provide technical support for production test issues and investigate yield drops, test failures, and equipment or software abnormalities. Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions to minimize production disruptions and improve yield.
  • Analyze and optimize production test sequences, software performance, and equipment utilization to reduce test cycle time, eliminate bottlenecks, and maximize manufacturing throughput without compromising test quality or coverage.
  • Develop and maintain test procedures, software documentation, troubleshooting guides, and work instructions, and provide technical training to production and engineering personnel to ensure consistent test execution and effective issue resolution.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Engineering, or Automation Engineering

Experience:

  • 2-3 years of Test Automation Software Development Experience
  • 1+ years of Hardware Instrumentation Control & Industrial Protocols Experience
  • 1+ years of Factory Shop-Floor System (MES) & Database Integration Experience
  • 1+ years of Mass Production Deployment & New Product Introduction (NPI) Troubleshooting

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

Frequently works in office, laboratory, and manufacturing environments, requiring computer use, technical document review, product inspection, and regular movement between work areas. The role may involve occasional handling of test equipment or product samples and exposure to operating equipment, elevated noise levels, and other laboratory or production conditions; appropriate PPE may be required.
