Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards, Cleanroom: no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair etc... allowed, Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.)

Production Supervisor - 3rd Shift

We are seeking an experienced and motivated 3rd Shift Production Supervisor to lead manufacturing operations on our overnight shift. In this role, you'll provide hands-on leadership to a team of production employees, driving a culture centered on safety, quality, continuous improvement, and employee engagement.

3rd Shift Hours: Sunday – Friday: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM, including rotating weekend on-call coverage.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead daily manufacturing operations to safely meet production schedules, quality standards, and customer commitments.
  • Foster a culture where safety is the top priority by modeling safe behaviors, conducting safety meetings, leading audits, and ensuring compliance with all safety procedures.
  • Supervise, coach, mentor, and develop a team of hourly production employees while building engagement, accountability, and strong team performance.
  • Manage daily workforce activities including staffing, attendance, overtime, vacation scheduling, timekeeping, and shift communications.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, recognition, and employee development to help team members succeed.
  • Coordinate production priorities, assign resources, and adjust workflows to maximize productivity while maintaining product quality.
  • Partner with Quality, Engineering, Planning, Maintenance, and other departments to quickly resolve production challenges and improve operational performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Practical Process Improvement (PPI), Six Sigma, and structured problem-solving tools.
  • Monitor production metrics and analyze operational data to identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, ISO, FDA, company quality systems, and standard operating procedures.
  • Support process improvements that reduce waste, improve efficiency, and enhance overall manufacturing performance.
  • Build positive working relationships within a union manufacturing environment by consistently administering the collective bargaining agreement and promoting respectful employee relations.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Three (3) or more years of manufacturing experience.
  • One (1) or more years of supervisory, team lead, or other manufacturing leadership experience.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead by example and motivate teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Higher level education or certifications.
  • Experience supervising employees in a union manufacturing environment.
  • Experience interpreting and administering a collective bargaining agreement.
  • Experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, food, life sciences, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of GMP, FDA, and ISO quality systems.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or Practical Process Improvement (PPI).
  • Experience using ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data, drive process improvements, and lead organizational change.

Additional Information:

  • This position is based in Meriden, CT. Relocation assistance is not available for this role.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in Connecticut is $80,000.00–$99,000.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
