Full Job Description
PRODUCTION SHIFT SUPERVISOR (STARLINK/AKOUSTIS)

This position supports RF filter production for SpaceX's Starlink satellite internet constellation and growing defense communications portfolio. An Akoustis Production Shift Supervisor manages operators and production technicians to support manufacturing processes to improve yield, quality, and efficiency that set new standards in bulk acoustic wave (BAW) filter performance. They lead cross functional teams to meet work center goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead daily operations for assigned production area and ensures operators and technicians meet daily output targets
  • Manage shift schedules and overtime to maintain required staffing levels and meet production commitments
  • Report weekly KPI performance to management and drives corrective actions when metrics fall below targets
  • Plan and prioritize high-volume production schedules to meet customer delivery dates
  • Lead cycle time reduction and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Investigate and closes corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) within defined timelines
  • Drive equipment uptime improvement initiatives in collaboration with maintenance and engineering teams
  • Resolve process integration issues across work centers to reduce scrap and rework
  • Enforce safety and quality protocols and leads daily safety and quality reviews
  • Manage work-in-process (WIP) levels across work centers to meet cycle time goals
  • Maintain chemical inventory accuracy and ensures uninterrupted material availability
  • Cross-train operators across work centers to improve flexibility and reduce bottlenecks
  • Lead yield improvement efforts and implements actions to reduce scrap and increase first-pass yield
  • Drive cost reduction projects and 5S initiatives to improve efficiency and workplace organization

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate's degree and 3+ years of professional experience in a manufacturing or test environment; OR high school diploma or equivalency certificate and 5+ years of professional experience in a manufacturing or test environment
  • 2+ years of experience in a supervisory or team lead position
  • 2+ years of experience working in the semiconductor, electronics, or manufacturing industry

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a semiconductor or science-related field such as materials science, chemical engineering, electrical engineering, microelectronics, nanotechnology, chemistry, or physics
  • Proficiency in JMP and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience working in semiconductor fabrication processes and statistical process control
  • Hands-on experience in at least one fab process area (photolithography, deposition, etch, or test)
  • Proven track record of leading projects that improved process development or yield
  • Experience with metrology and failure analysis techniques

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to work a large percentage of the day in a cleanroom with strict adherence to Class 100 level gowning protocols
  • Ability to work in an environment requiring strict adherence to workplace safety rules, where additional PPE is required in certain circumstances
  • Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed to meet critical milestones
  • This position will sit 100% onsite in our Canandaigua, NY facility. Remote work not considered
  • Aptitude to work as part of a team and also independently

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay range:
Production Supervisor: $100,000.00 - $135,000.00/per year

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
