Responsibilities

  • Enforce safety rules and ISO standards consistently on the production floor.
  • Directly supervise, recruit, train, and develop production staff through coaching and disciplinary measures.
  • Utilize a customer-driven approach to meet KPI targets and engage team members in process improvements.
  • Lead teams focused on continuous improvement in safety, productivity, and quality.
  • Monitor workflows and implement processes for cost reduction and reporting.
  • Establish production priorities, monitor progress, and resolve scheduling issues.
  • Assist with hands-on equipment operation, including troubleshooting and machine repairs.

Full Job Description
Position Purpose:

Responsible for the day-to-day management of the production floor though supervision, development and training of the production team. Also responsible for the efficient movement of product through the plant with a focus on quality and timeliness.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Tasks related to this position may vary and are not limited to those listed below:
• Follows and enforces established safety rules, ISO standards policies and procedures at all times
• Directs supervision of production staff including recruiting, selecting, training and developing associates through coaching and disciplinary actions
• Uses a Customer Driven approach to achieve KPI targets and engage associates in the improvement process (i.e. production quality, output, processes and efficiencies)
• Leads work teams focused on continuous improvement in safety, productivity, waste and quality improvement
• Maintains timekeeping and personnel records for all direct reports
• Maintains efficient workflows by monitoring processes and variables; implements cost reductions; develops reporting procedures and systems
• Completes production plan by establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising production schedules, resolving problems and reporting results or issues
• Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs; assists in troubleshooting machine issues
• Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests
• Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, budgetary and personnel requirements
• Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing associates on the use of all equipment and safety protocols
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications
• Assists with hands-on operation of machines, including operating and feeding large press machines that requires a full awareness of surroundings, machine pinch points and safety protocols
• Operate forklift, as needed, in tight spaces with human traffic
• Other duties as assigned
• Full-time role in a manufacturing plant/warehouse setting.

Skill Set:
• Proficient in lean methods
• Proficient in Amtech job costing module
• Proficient in Amtech RPM module
• Strong communication skills and mentoring skills
• Ability to accurately and thoroughly maintain documentation

Qualifications Desired:
• High school diploma / GED
• Experience in the corrugated packaging industry highly preferred
• Certified forklift operator
• Working knowledge of all production machines, plant equipment and operations
• Results-orientated and able to work both independently and within a team environment
• Demonstrates aptitude for problem-solving; ability to determine solutions for customers
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills
• Drives results through others
• Assertive leader who holds self and others accountable
