Full Job Description

The Production Planner is a key member of the Mebane team reporting to the Plant Supply Chain Manager. The Production Planner role is responsible for all aspects of planning, scheduling, managing the service level, costs and inventories for products that run on production lines. The planner works closely with the other production planners, the raw materials manager, suppliers, manufacturing, the distribution center, and customer service personnel as necessary. This position is responsible for balancing customer service, inventory levels within inventory turn targets, and the efficient utilization of production/distribution facilities, manpower and working capital in assigned areas.

Job Responsibilities

  • Create and publish weekly production plans for manufacturing lines

  • Provide 6-8 week planning horizons to support production line plans and raw material requirements

  • Maintain planning and inventory parameters that optimize SAP to provide best in class results

  • Collaborate with Customer Service, Planning, Procurement and inventory control to service the customers with the best availability dates possible

  • Periodically review and update SAP master data tables, particularly ABC class and safety stock settings and throughput rates for capacity planning

  • Communicate with Customer Service when orders will not be delivered as expected

  • Knowledgeable with SAP / AIMS / Advise software and creation of Process Orders

  • Work with the Sales Team and Production to create new production items and set them up in SAP

  • Actively pursue continuous improvement and support company initiatives, such as World Class Armacell Mindset (WAM)

  • Provide reports that gauge the overall health of these business segments

  • Manage inventory levels to meet targets, including participation in and management of cycle count activities

Job Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Accounting or related field or equivalent level of knowledge typically gained by 5+ years9 practical job experience in a similar role

  • 2-5 years of production planning experience in a manufacturing environment required

  • Ability to excel in a cross-cultural, global team environment

  • Possesses professional written and verbal communication skills

  • Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Knowledge of SAP and Advise/Mesabi is preferred

  • Ability to work independently and multi-task in a fast-paced environment

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

  • Solid understanding of statistical process control and world class manufacturing techniques

  • Knowledge of rubber processing: mixing, curing, extrusion, and foaming

  • Proven experience in creating effective technical solutions

  • Proven experience in project management and risk management

The expected compensation range for this role is $75,000.00 -$90,000.00.

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience, and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
