Full Job Description
POSITION DESCRIPTION:

This position is directly responsible for developing and overseeing strategic and tactical plans that meet divisional and corporate objectives for profitability, cost control, product quality, compliance, employee development and internal customer service. This position is responsible for effective execution of the job responsibilities noted below as well as the effective execution of the job responsibilities for the position of Production Manager, VTC/ICE.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Manages all aspects of assembly operations to include manufacturing processes, procedures, work instructions and schedules.
  • Ensure support functions are properly maintaining equipment through preventive maintenance and issues resolution through downtime planning.
  • Ensure proper allocation of tools, equipment and staffing as needed to achieve results.
  • Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure functional objectives are met.
  • Plan and coordinate departmental activities to fulfill sales orders, meet inventory requirements, and deliver manufactured products in a timely fashion.
  • Participates on new product teams to help build plans that will ensure a smooth transition from concept to start of production.
  • Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas of production. Work to continuously improve in all areas.
  • Develop processes and improvement systems; ensures regulatory compliance.
  • Continually review job tasks and work methods to create cost saving measures.
  • Develop and maintain reporting, charting and tracking of productivity and quality.
  • Performs capacity analysis of resources including equipment, suppliers and labor; level loading production
  • Measure and monitor OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) for department. Drive initiatives to improve performance, availability and quality.
  • Maintains work center schedules to ensure proper jobs are scheduled and capacity limitations are understood.
  • Implement and track corrective actions to continuously improve each major KPI.
  • Works diligently with Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance departments to develop mechanisms that will improve quality.
  • Create and maintain functional relationships with other operational and organizational departments to gain input on product and process requirements and needs.
  • Ensure Environment, Health, and Safety compliance.
  • Provide leadership through mentoring, training, and coaching direct reports.


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Four year degree with at least 5 years' experience in a manufacturing leadership role.
  • Automotive industry experience preferred.
  • Proven knowledge of production, scheduling and shipping operations.
  • Familiarity with IATF16949 , ISO14000 and OSHA regulations.
  • Proven ability to motivate team efforts to accomplish goals.
  • Proven experience in hiring, conducting performance reviews, and administering corrective actions.
  • Must have proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk. The employee occasionally is required to sit or stand. Occasional lifting of items not to exceed 50 lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position works in a warehouse/production environment. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

The performance of this position requires exposure to the manufacturing areas where certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment.
