Full Job Description
Leidos' Defense Systems Colorado Manufacturing Facility is seeking a Production Manager 2nd Shift to join our team supporting a stand-alone manufacturing facility performing work on a hypersonic weapon system as well as other DOD and aerospace applications. Primary Responsibilities As part of the site leadership team, the Production Manager will have the opportunity to work with a collaborative team to support our nations war fighters. Agility, flexibility, and creativity will be necessary to successfully navigate production challenges. Responsibilities include: - Manage and lead a team of machinists and production technician, and provide leadership to 2nd shift support staff including quality and engineering - Maintain shop organization and 5S, performing weekly 5S audits - Provide effective passdown status between shifts - Work with production control team to understand deliverables and deploy resources effectively to support on time delivery - Work with manufacturing engineering to continuously improve production flow - Work with quality to understand status of nonconformities and support closure to move forward to the next step - Identify production roadblocks and escalate to appropriate teams - Hold team accountable to adhering to the written production processes - Identify and support execution of continuous improvement projects - Identify and escalate risks in the production processes - Maintain department performance metrics - Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess or be able to obtain Secret Clearance. - Work schedule will be Monday-Thursday 2pm-12am, overtime on Friday as required Basic Qualifications - Candidate least 5+ years manufacturing experience with increasing levels of responsibility. - Prior supervisory experience - Prior exposure to precision machining and assembly processes - Experience with MRP/ERP systems - Understanding of GD&T - Proficient with Microsoft Office Products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Preferred Qualifications - BS degree in engineering, logistics, or business - Lean manufacturing experience with Six Sigma certification. - Prior experience in Deltek Costpoint - Secret Security Clearance Original Posting: August 6, 2026 For U.S. Positions: While subject to change based on business needs, Leidos reasonably anticipates that this job requisition will remain open for at least 3 days with an anticipated close date of no earlier than 3 days after the original posting date as listed above.
