Job Description:

Job Responsibilities:
• R&D engineering focal point internally/externally for overall product technology
• Product architect to maintain deep knowledge of product requirement, design, application, technical roadmap, customer pain points, technology trend
• Responsible for leading product technology exploration/innovation, development and deployment
• Driving development and update of multi-generation product technology strategy and roadmap
• Directing global, functional engineering/application teams on new product/application development, sustaining
• Key contact for ITW innovation center for new technology exploration, research, assessment, competitive intelligence
• Representing EAE to customers in product technology strategy, roadmap sessions
• Owning IP strategy, roadmap, development
• Capturing VoC, market trend, priority from product management and other customer facing groups to transform it to multi-generation product/technology roadmap
• R&D core team leader in the new product development projects
• Provide input on resource need, timeline to implement a new development project, initiative
• Represents ITW-EAE as product technical leader in technical meetings, conferences, forums through participation, presentation, trainer, contributor.

Required Skills/Experience:
• Experience with end-to-end reflow soldering product development - concept, design/development, testing, launch, post-launch support
• Strong understanding of reflow soldering process, application
• Good understanding of reflow solder technology trends
• Knowledge of major reflow products globally
• Experience in direct customer interaction, gathering voice of customer (VoC)
• Ability to conceptualize new ideas based on marketing/customer requirements and follow through developing short- and long-term technology roadmap
• Demonstrated experience of effective collaboration with global, cross-functional teams

Preferred Skills/Experience:
• Exposure to advanced technology (machine learning, intelligent machines, artificial intelligence) and application to reflow soldering
• Experience of reflow thermal profile development
• Effective communication, presentation skills for global, cross-functional teams
• High degree of proficiency in problem solving
• Experience in developing technical value proposition
• Ability to manage project

Education:
• Requires a bachelor's degree (preferred Master's) in Science, Engineering and a 10+ years of relevant experience in product design, development, technology management, process/application development

Compensation Information:

The pay rate for a successful candidate will depend on the geographic location. In Massachusetts, the pay range is $145,000 - $170,000. The specific hiring rate within the posted pay range will depend on the successful candidate's qualifications and prior experience.
